I have made enemies on my various rides just because I dont oblige to such test ride requests. I know R3 owners from Bangalore, as we have a whatsapp group, and no one will oblige you with a ride.
Why strange request? It was requested bcoz test ride bikes are not available at the dealership & also not sure if the new R3 would be available soon for test ride!
Anyway, if you don't want to give your bike, that is your choice & I respect it, but don't say "strange" request etc

Dude, if test ride bikes are not available, then that does not mean you can ask owners for test rides and sulk when they dont. Especially when you are a complete stranger. The fact that nobody replied to your request clearly means such "strange" requests wont be entertained. I was kind enough to at-least convey you the message.

Test rides were never offered on R3 till it was available for sale atleast in Mumbai.

Dude, firstly I didn't "ask" but requested for a test ride. Secondly, I didn't "sulk" as mentioned by you, I already said earlier if anyone doesn't want to give his bike, I respect his choice!
Actually, I don't mind giving my car/bike to group members who have driving/riding experience for a test ride! My mistake of expecting the same from fellow group members...

I have got my car crashed beyond repair and junked it. And got my R15 crashed and repaired twice. But I have still not lost faith in humanity so if you ever come to Hyderabad or I ride to Bengaluru, please feel free to ask for a long test ride on Highway of my R3

I have run into a road block.

I am not able to transfer my bike from Mumbai to Kolkata.
Apparently, BS3 bike cannot be registered here officially.
                What a bummer !

Anyone else face this situation...?..Don't want to sell my bike...

                regards,
                J

Transfer it onto your father/mothers name first in bangalore. Then transfer it to Kolkata.
These rules do not apply for Used bikes.
Check again at kolkata, if these rules apply prior initiating the process.

That was my understanding too. That the BS4 rule is applicable to new vehicles only. But here in Kolkata they are not allowing even the existing vehicles to be registered.
Have talked to all the people at the RTO. No one is able to show any official document, but all of them are agreeing that its not possible to register a BS3 bike.

I got to know in the nick of time. As I had already applied for NoC. I had rush back to stop it. Otherwise I would have ended up without any registration.

And the general resale value of bikes like this are so poor that I don't want to sell it for now.

                    regards,

That's a bummer! Does that mean I can't buy it and register it in my name if Iam getting the second hand BS3 vehicle?

No thats not the case ,it is in inter state transfer
When a bike is of another state, and the owner wants local number/or to his name in his local address you have to surrender the old number, and get a new number for the state.
                          For example
                          You live in banglore
You bought a bike from jharkhand, the number of the bike would be JH ** ** ****
                          in some series.
Now you want to transfer the ownership to your name in banglore, you have to surrender your JH number, along the noc,and the bike would be registered with new number starting with
                          KA

I think this process has stopped after ban on bs3 viechels

Hey guys, anyone from Pune willing to meet for short weekend rides? I generally ride solo over the weekend, but would be fun to have a fellow R3 to share the passion

I prefer to keep it short and sweet starting at around 6:30 or so and reach back home by 9. I am a 31 year old guy from Delhi residing in Pune for over 6 years and loves to meet new people and make friends along the way.

                            Feel free to PM me.

Any update on launch of R3? Is there any communication from Yamaha regarding the launch in Auto Expo?
