  • Regarding the test drive experience.

hy fellas, good day. After a long time, I am coming to xBhp to post a thread. I have test ridden the mojo last month and that TD bike is 1.5 yrs old bike. Even that bike was awesome to drive and I am amazed. So i decided this would be my next upgrade. Before the TD, i visited the service center in the name of visiting showroom( blame the gmaps ) so asked them what is the service interval of Mojo, that service personnel with a weird look asking me, what do you mean by that... i believe I didnt enquire about the rocket science. i laughed and fleed away from that place.

So, from the above paragraph, you can all guess where I am coming to. Yes, the service centers. I whole chennai, mahindra has only 2 service centers. So folks who are in chennai and owns a mojo, please share your service experience. Are you all happy with the service they provide I wanted to have a true experience of yours. This makes me to think about the servicing and plan accordingly. I am not going to say I wont take the bike due to the poor service. I am going to take the bike with additional cautions/precautions wrt to service.

    Comments are most welcome fellas,

Also, most of the folks are bugging about this bike isn't having ABS. I really dont think it needs one with the new jjuan master cylinder at the front. All you hve to know is, how to control your nerves and the bike in panic situation. Some one in xBhp said, ABS is for kids...real men dont need ABS in his bike and even if he does, that doesn't make any difference... Now, please dont quote me on that folks...

Chennai machi's unga review ennaku kandipa thevai....

    Thanks in advance folks.

Long live Mojo and the Mojo Owners...

Last time I did a test ride of Mojo was back in June 2016, at that time there was three authorised dealerships.

Now when I checked, there is only one. The showroom where I took the test ride near arumbakkam opposite DJ Vaishnav college is closed too!

So buying a Mojo in Chennai is becoming hard, even though I like the product after the new 2017 BS4 updates its becoming difficult to recommend it to someone in Chennai now.

Yes, that is what I am also thinking. As far as I know, I have seen 2 showrooms for Mojo in chennai. One is on porur(which is closed now for more than a year) which is vignesh Motors.

One is DP motors which is the one there for longer time as of now.

I recently received a call from Joydeep who is in Mahindra & Mahindra operations for Tamil Nadu and Kerala region. He said me, they are opening a standalone exclusive showroom for Mojo in chennai real soon. They are opening one in Salem by this moth end and it is already available in cities like Bangalore, Hosur, hyderabad, Kerala, Mumbai delhi.

So we can expect one also in namma chennai but god knows when.

If I get some inputs from our chennai folks regarding the service, it would help me to book this bike real soon.

Awaiting for some response from the chennai guys or you can also PM me, no issues. Would like to hear from you regarding mojo service.

The vehicle godown was in Vellore and they wouldn't transport just one vehicle to Chennai. Thus they were waiting for a couple of orders which took some time. In total, it took 20 days from the date of payment for me to receive the bike.

Some minor grievances but overall the experience was good. I recently interacted with a guy from 212 motors and he seemed very cool as well.

Have no idea about Vignesh Motors.

As pointed out earlier, the bike is front-heavy and turning should be done cautiously initially. However, you do get used to it. One big plus are the Pirelli tyres - they are really good. They provide ample grip even on wet surfaces.

I took out the bike on a winding road (ECR) and had no problem turning even while traveling at 100 kmph. However, if you need to knee down, it might not be possible as the footpegs and the silencer cover start to scrape (Mahindra claims this happens only beyond 42 deg tilt). And since the bike has an impressive torque, it pulls easily and you can speed out of the corner effortlessly.

Now here is a photo that was shared in the Mojo Chennai Whatsapp Group - just to let you know how far this bike can be pushed.

Hi bro, from your post I came to know that you are from chennai and I believe there is a whatsapp group for chennai Mojo owners. So, is there any possibilities that you can add me on that group. I havent got the mojo yet, but wanting to get one. Wanted to experience how the service is, so if you can add me, I can get the details about the service experience from the mojo owners.

            Thank you.

              Hi,
You can PM your number.. But the group admins generally add only Mojo Customers or people who have already booked it.

You can contact me. I'll PM you my number.. I will let you know the pros and cons of the bike and let you decide.

Hy dude, hope your prayers have been answered.

Just now spoke with Karthick from Mahindra who is CRM(customer Relationship Manager) of tamil nadu region... he gave me some updates.

                1. ABS version of Mojo will be coming from April month next year as the rule for ABS is mandatory for the bikes above 125 CC. So we can expect a update of ABS 100%
                2. A mojo Exclusive showroom is coming to salem this 31st and it will also be available in coimbatore with 2 to 3 months for sure.
                3. Mojo exclusive showroom planning is going on in chennai, due to the higher rent rates, it is taking much time. Most propably it will come inside the city if it is not there, it will be there in Anna Nagar for sure.
                4. Mojo stripped down version is going to come in coming months for sure. May be a circular headlights instead of twin pods and a lowered CC(may be).
                5. I inquired him about the spares availability of Mojo's. He said me, basic parts will be readily available and it might take a weeks time when the rare parts get damaged in bike due to accidents. Other than that, 70% of the parts will be available in svc(Service centers).

What I understood in his speech is, the Mojo is growing. It may be idle till these times, but they have decided to come back with a bang. A exclusive mojo showroom is more than enough to leave mojo's for service where they will only service mojo bikes and Technicians will also be only for Mojo's.

                Hope this helps.

Unfortunately not possible to wait as i need a bike within max 2-3 weeks. May be if salem launches i could go there & test ride the bike, but then service becomes such a worry till they open in Coimbatore

I would suggest you to have a check on the salem showroom. So that you can have a chance to do test drive.

That is an offer you can avail if you book through Paytm. You get the jacket free with the tourer edition and in case of the "normal" mojo you get a tank bag free. Paytm charges a convenience fee of 500 while you book the bike. Booking amount is INR 20k.

Also for people looking at the tourer edition, the panier mount and the side saddle bag carriers for the new elongated chassis is not available yet - at least with the Bangalore showrooms. They will fit the tourer with everything else, and these two accessories as soon as they get it. Shouldn't be a problem, just sharing the info
