Sometimes I really feel that problems come only to the people who follows the rules strictly. This may be applicable in life too.

This is a very very lame advice especially when it comes from professionals(ASC) who are trained to diagnose & fix the issues. How could they even think of such stupid idea especially given the bike is designed for touring purpose and riders always fill it up to the brim.

I really wish that you get a permanent solution from fellow riders in this forum.
    Thanks man..

Hence I planned to switch for better tour oriented machine, I looked forward to Duke 390 & RE Himalayan ABS, and finally fell for REH, because KTM after sales service was not present where I live. So on November 2018, I got the keys, and followed strict instruction for breaking period of engine. I January 2019 I rode to Kolkata, my home city added some extra lighting and mounting arrangement for top box and panniers returned back to Jajpu/Odisha and again a week later hit to Vizag, some 600Kms ride, did Araku and returned back to my place. The bike did pretty well till June. As the monsoon started, One very fine day while ridding to my work all of a sudden the bike started decelerating while throttling, and in few seconds it regained its power and gave me a sudden jerk. As days passed, the issue kept on repeating more and more, and now added with start issue. I had to keep on firing the start button and pulling throttle to rev engine. I brought the bike to ASC and they said that I was filling the fuel tank to its max capacity and hence it was causing this issue, they suggested to fill only half tank and not more than that.. So from then onward, I followed the same, but the issue remained intact. Later ASC guy took the bike and kept with them to study the behavior, and after doing so, they changed the fuel valves and and did general service and claimed the problem is resolved. The very same day I again faced the similar problem of engine stalling during ride and refusal to start after stall. After that I did some homework over internet, and found some solution on this XBHP forum and you tube related to Evap fuel canister. Went again to ASC, re-routed the Evap Fuel Line and chipping the mouth of tubes for both overspil and evap fuel. The bike did pretty well for half day but again to my fear it stalled the very same day with persistent engine starting issue. I have a ride in November to Mumbai and in February to Bhutan. I have heavily invested my savings my leaves to make it happen all this year. ASC guys seems not be serious anymore, and i'm getting clueless for its solution. I cant go on trip with this problem.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME ON THIS??
Change the oil to Motul or Shell, 15W50 grade semi synthetic,RE liquid gun is waste. A good oil makes a huge difference in Himalayan.
Also, change your fuel bunk, try shell or some reliable HP bunk.
Should solve your problem for sure.

Two things, check your fuel injector and fuel pump. Get them both replaced under warranty. If you feel you bike is losing power while riding and then gaining momentum and feels like is being starved of fuel. This is dangerous, especially when cruising around highways and overtaking. The bike should start with the push of the button. The injector might be clogged or the fuel pump might be faulty. Start off by first removing the throttle body, clean the fuel injector and see if it helps. If it still happens, opt for the fuel injector and fuel pump replacement.

The EVAP canister doesn't cause any stalling, apart from a few misses here and there, and yes the fuel tank though is a problem, isn't a problem per se. If you check the manual it mentions a particular point to where the fuel should be filled. Make sure the fuel isn't full so that the tank can breathe properly, else it will stall and leak as fuel expands during heat, but generally that's not a problem.

Start off with the above mentioned items, get them double checked and replaced and keep your observations posted.

          Good luck.

          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thanks man, I spoke to ASC this time strongly and they have confirmed to bring himalayan expert from kolkata to attend this issue!
Honestly as u mentioned I nearly met an accident while cruising recently..
I did study a bit on fuel pump and injectors and believe the injector solenoid might be malfunctioning!
Looking forward to kill this issue sooner..

Hello guys This sounds for me like a bad petrol problem , which I have had on my carburetored XT , in this case a good good cleaning and a filter make the job.
Filters exist for REH : one in the tank, one around the pump.
                ask for this matter .
                riding : 70
                martial arts : 73
loving to tour around : always

I was looking at tyre options online, and came across Ralco Speedblaster 140/70 R 17. I had earlier used Speedblaster on my RE Classic and absolutely loved it.

Now this size option will lead to a rear height reduction of 1.9cm. The other option is SpeedBlaster 120/80 R 17 which will lead to 2.3cm reduction.

Dont want to go with Ceat. What other options do we have as unable to find anything in 120/90 R 17 within budget

It can be that you're grabbing the bars very hard and keeping your arm stiff, try holding the bars gently and relax on the left arm, it should help. The Himalayan has a very upright riding position and the handlebars can and will induce pain on some. It takes some time to getting used to, but try not to hold the bars very tightly and have a relaxed grip, and see if it helps.

Secondly, if you feel the cut off happens with erratic RPM, get it checked at the SVC. It can also be that you need to adjust your clutch free play, so that it doesn't stall. The Himalayan has no free play at the clutch lever whatsoever. Get it adjusted so that it has some freeplay, and then observe if it stalls. You might be lugging the engine and hence can cause a stall. The bike takes some time getting used to, especially the riding position. You also need to make sure that you leave the clutch gradually, release it fast and it will stall.

Hope it helps. Keep your observations posted.

                      Cheers!

If my memory serves me right, there hasn't been any significant improvement or changes to the newer or up to date RE Himalayans. They're basically the same sold last year, unless they've learnt a thing or two and reinforced their chassis. But, pretty much the same package.
