And zero depreciation is another add on cover over these existing policies, so that will be a few hundreds to thousands more depending on the CC of the vehicle. Make sure you ask a separate quotation for insurance and the options, this will give you a clear idea as to what can be considered and you can save some money during upfront payment.

        Havnt seen either in person. Myself currently thinking of getting this one as I have bar end lights installed. My main purpose of to protect from wind (cold) and branches (if any).

          How much did you pay for the insurance with the above criteria opted(5years-[OwnDamage+ThirdParty] & Zero depreciation)?

            Hi all,
            I recently bought himalyan. Went to a short 60 km trip. Did a little off-roading at night to find a camping place. Overall it was fun trip. But only concern was handling was not up to the mark for me with pillion.

            When I ride alone it was just fine. Even with lighter rider it was just fine. But my friend weighs 80 kg, and even though my feet doesn't touch fully while riding alone but when he sat my feet was touching ground comfortably.

            I have read and watched videos saying that pre-load adjustment is essential part while riding with pillion. And even while riding alone, depending on rider's weight. This is done by adjusting rider's sag. There is a simple method to adjust pre-load (rear mono shock) so that rider's sag comes within specified standard range.

            My question is did any of you guys have tried adjusting the pre-load. The c spanner or hook spanner which can be used to adjust rear monoshock is not present in toolkit. Have to try in hardware stores wheather they have it, or does RE sell it. Please let me know your thoughts on this topic.

              The Himalayan's rear suspension can be adjusted with the help of a special too. This tool isn't provided inside the toolkit provided by RE. You can take it to your RE SVC and get it adjusted for you. I think we have seven notches on the Himalayan, and the stock one sits at three. Clockwise, you put more tension and increase the preload, decrease and you increase the sag more. Try it out at the SVC by increasing it to 5 notches, from the stock three, it should help. Keep your observations posted.

                about the rear shock (if it the same in EU i put one more , so 4 , and i fine .
                the load is around 100 kg , means 84 for me and 16 for the stuff.
                It is not easy to change it all the time, but the tool is quite simple to find .Another solution is changing the spring .

                  Recently avenger started to give lot of problems and I started to lose my patience because jawa is not gonna get delivered before 2020 or later so I started my lookout again for new bike and after digging internet and research found out there are few ( Dominar 2019, Himalyan 2019 and brand new Re Int 650 from Enfield )

                  Being 5.3 I was pretty sceptical about taking test ride of these bikes as these are bigger bikes, stands taller and heavy. I have been using friends avenger street 150 for almost an year so had zero exp with big bikes but anyway I decided to try and test ride these bikes, so I visited ( RE showroom Soniya motors at Bhandup ) and asked for test ride they gave me Himalayan, I took my wife as pillion and test rode for 1-2km as we were late and it was peak traffic hours so couldn't test rode properly but my wife felt comfortable as a pillion and we decided to come back early another day and asked if I could get long test ride for which they agreed so decided to come back on off day but while returning my wife noticed Int 650 there and liked it alot.
                  So I thought to test ride that as well and I did it next day for almost 5-6 km in traffic, open stretch and oh boy that bike roared being shorter I didn't find it difficult to ride at all even in traffic and I was completely sold but I knew this is not the bike for me because parking and putting on main stand won't be cakewalk as well as a friend ( proud int 650 and GT 535 owner ) suggested to not get int650 if my priority is pillion comfort, so I dropped that plan and continued to stick to Himalayan in between I test rode Domi 2019 but my wife completely decline to test ride that as a pillion so dropped that plan and I took another test ride of himalyan and rode for almost few kms didn't find it difficult to handle/maneuver but gear was hard to shift Maybe due to TR vehicle but anyway I went ahead and booked ( Himalyan Sleet Abs 2019 ) it with lot of confusion whether to go for it or not and honestly I'm still confused even after making 80% payment.
                  But anyway nothing can be done since payment made so I thought learn to ride and live with it and hope to not regret my decision. Anyway, I decided to not buy insurance from dealer and buy it separately but here's the catch dealer said I'll have to handover insurance copy to them before registeration then they will be able to go for registration but every insurance website I have been checking for insurance is asking for registration date few of insurance provider doesn't even have option for " himalyan abs 411cc" most of them just shows STD Petrol 411CC so not sure if I chose STD Petrol 411CC then my worry is, would it cover my bike because it's ABS, as well as insurance is bought after registration or before and which insurance should I pick between ( comprehensive and zero dep ) and do zero dep covers TP ( sorry for Noob questions ) beside which insurance provider should I go with. It would be great help if answered and provided the amount you all paid for Insurance ( comprehensive and zero dep ) not sure if it's the right thing to ask.

                  one more thing I noticed other 2 Himalayan were there in their godown because they said Sleet color has arrived for the previously booked customer and I want to have a look at them but after checking both I noticed both had 2km run on tripmeter when enquired they said it's tested before getting delivered to dealer, is this true.
                  I've also done same thing while Purchasing mine Himalayan Sleet ABS on August 16th..

                  Got my first service done yesterday..
                  Done some minor changes...
                  - Added crash guard from HDT CUSTOMS
                  - Rear saddles from Zana
                  - Flasher unit from Simtec
                  - Dual Horns from Hella
                  - Handle bar raiser (added original)

                  PLANNING on getting
                  - Tank protector (coating)for tank bag protection,
                  - LED indicator replacement (Simtec ones didn't fit as they were bit longer will use it on my Karizma)
                  - Auxiliary lights
                  - knuckle guard


                  Any suggestions do let me know...
                  Is there any WhatsApp group ??

                    Hi sorry for the delay in reply, been traveling.
                    Any zero dep plan from showroom comes with 5 years Tp by default that's what I was told by my dealer ( Soniya motors Bhandup ) whichever plan you opt for you get 5 years Tp along by default . 1 year zero dep + 5 years Tp for 19k and 5 years zero dep + 5 years Tp 29k

                      Hi, how much did the crash guard cost from HDT custom, I was checking crash guard with slider by A4 Moto Designs which looks more promising less bulky, From where did you purchase handle bar raiser( og ) ( cost ) and please keep us posted about kunckle guard. I'm planning to replace stock headlight with Philips 12342XVP H4 X-treme Vision Plus

                        But I have one question, does having Zero-Depreciation plan would invariably mean it would include Own-Damage for the same period?
                        For example, if I take a 5 year plan with Zero-Depreciation, does it come with 5 years of Own-Damage cover?

                          Depends on the insurance. The types of plans I was told are below as per the insurance company.

                          1. 5 years Zero Dep + 5 Years TP
                          2. First year Zero Dep + 4 years comprehensive + 5 years TP
                          3. 5 years comprehensive + 5 years TP
                          4. 1 year comprehensive + 5 years TP

                              Hello everyone, Well i had been not an active member on this forum, and sorry for being that! As of now I own 2009 FZ16 and RE Himalayan ABS Stealth Black. Prior to my Himalayan, I had Classic 350 Ash, which was doing great but was giving some trouble due to vibration, which periodically damaged my aux lights. Hence I planned to switch for better tour oriented machine, I looked forward to Duke 390 & RE Himalayan ABS, and finally fell for REH, because KTM after sales service was not present where I live. So on November 2018, I got the keys, and followed strict instruction for breaking period of engine. I January 2019 I rode to Kolkata, my home city added some extra lighting and mounting arrangement for top box and panniers returned back to Jajpu/Odisha and again a week later hit to Vizag, some 600Kms ride, did Araku and returned back to my place. The bike did pretty well till June. As the monsoon started, One very fine day while ridding to my work all of a sudden the bike started decelerating while throttling, and in few seconds it regained its power and gave me a sudden jerk. As days passed, the issue kept on repeating more and more, and now added with start issue. I had to keep on firing the start button and pulling throttle to rev engine. I brought the bike to ASC and they said that I was filling the fuel tank to its max capacity and hence it was causing this issue, they suggested to fill only half tank and not more than that.. So from then onward, I followed the same, but the issue remained intact. Later ASC guy took the bike and kept with them to study the behavior, and after doing so, they changed the fuel valves and and did general service and claimed the problem is resolved. The very same day I again faced the similar problem of engine stalling during ride and refusal to start after stall. After that I did some homework over internet, and found some solution on this XBHP forum and you tube related to Evap fuel canister. Went again to ASC, re-routed the Evap Fuel Line and chipping the mouth of tubes for both overspil and evap fuel. The bike did pretty well for half day but again to my fear it stalled the very same day with persistent engine starting issue. I have a ride in November to Mumbai and in February to Bhutan. I have heavily invested my savings my leaves to make it happen all this year. ASC guys seems not be serious anymore, and i'm getting clueless for its solution. I cant go on trip with this problem.

                                Belated congrats on owning a Himalayan. And sorry to hear your problems with the bike.

                                This is a very very lame advice especially when it comes from professionals(ASC) who are trained to diagnose & fix the issues. How could they even think of such stupid idea especially given the bike is designed for touring purpose and riders always fill it up to the brim.
