I've never had water draining near the neck filler cap, I make sure the routes are always inspected and cleaned, that's one. The vehicle missing/stalling happens extremely rarely, but yes, it does happen, it has to with the fuel itself clogging the breather tube, way down the line. I always make sure it is cleaned and the bike performs brilliantly. Secondly, the swoosing happens due to insufficient tank vent at the cap side, try cutting the rubber O ring underneath the fuel cap where there is a small hole under the fuel tank cap, it solved mine.

Cheers!

@B7ACKTHORN ,did not feel the need to cut the rubber o-ring washer and compromise it's integrity-the hole vent passage is cast into the cap body leading to the 2-way vent that i took out.Any which ways, the purpose seemed to be working-the bike is finally having a stable cold idle, stalls in slow speed traffic and crawling are down by 75%,and most importantly the engine does not shut off after any hard/emergency braking -so yeah, objective achieved .

Wonderful, as long as it serves the purpose, Safeena is hiccup free.

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

B7ACKTHORN ,not entirely hiccup free ,but surely a whole lot better -and today she was stellar , nonchalantly riding through almost 2feet standing water after really heavy rain here in my town-n me was grinning inside my helmet [emoji846]

The bike was standing in a 1hour long downpour outside my office-from the hiccups and stalls she gave on the way back home, seems she didn't like it one bit.I will have to check the tank for any water ingress -n I just got the tank filled to the brim today itself-so fingers crossed

I would suggest you disconnect the EVAP system temporarily and see how it fares. I would strongly recommend it on a trial and error basis. It mainly has to do with the fuel vent line towards the left side of the bike that drains the fuel/vapor into the EVAP canister and the opposite of that goes to the intake manifold via a solenoid. I would suggest you remove both these lines temporarily at the EVAP canister points, vent it to atmosphere and see observe.

Strongly worth a try. Keep your observations posted.

Cheers!

B7ACKTHORN , what if I vent the fuel vent pipe from the fuel tank to the atmosphere at or slightly above the handlebar level and seal off the airbox vent pipe completely and junk the EVAP system-as it is my EVAP system is now useless as the breather valve from the tank cap has been removed??? Yup, that is good idea. But, in case fuel vapors get converted to liquid, it's better they drain than they made stagnant in the tubes. On the other aspect of it, yes you can seal the intake routing from the EVAP cansister, and see if Safeena breathes well.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Hello Bikers, need your suggestion for Himalayan headlight. Low beam is bright enough but not happy with headlight performance on highway. High beam focus is too high with the factory fitted halogen. Tried changing extreme vision and one other halogen, but still the same focus.
Please share if you have installed any LED bulb which is bright enough for highway, or any specific halogen bulb which you have installed and can provide accurate high beam focus on the road.
I do not prefer to add any extra light, looking for just a bulb replacement in the same factory dome.

Thanks.

About stock lights

I think, headlight is too weak when compared to an ADV, i have gone for extra LED by HJG! 60w each
As you said, you don't want to add extra lights. There is an LED ie NIGHTEYE headlight bulb replacement, has a good throw and consumes less battery!
I will be going in for that headlight as i cannot turn my extra LED's on, thats too bright for cities and will blind people.

I would recommend you readjust the headlight level to see if it helps. Since your high beam is off, I would suggest you to loosen the allen bolts holding the headlamp unit and try adjusting it down and see how it fares, should give some solace. Leveling the headlight unit downward helps throw most of the usable light to the road rather than trees and pillars. Would suggest you give it a try.

Cheers!

After a waiting period of almost 6 months, finally got the original RE hand gaurds fitted-cost Rs2200. Meanwhile Safeena is stoically facing nature -another strong monsoon downpour today

With Safeena standing for many hours in the rain courtesy the numerous rainstorms, she received some TLC today-front end opened up to re grease the front end headstock bearings-some 140 no. gear oil was poured on top to form a super slick and sticky mixture -hope all systems work well[emoji3]

Hello all, my bs6 Himma clocked around 4000kms now. By the end of this month, it completes 6 months so it's due for 2nd service. But I feel like I should wait for 5000kms to complete for 2nd service. Because, everything is fine with my bike as I have been taking good care of it.

But, one person told me that I must go for 2nd free service within the prescribed period (6 months here) no matter how much kms it clocked. Otherwise, the SVC will not accept or charge fees. I said to him that it's not like that...

What will you suggest me to do? Wait for 5000 kms to complete or should I go for the service immediately?

Safeena had her second free service-just general check and bolt nut tightening-but a big big difference-all the resonances at different speeds have disappeared with the tightening of the bolts-took Safeena upto 110kmph just to countercheck-had never exceeded 100kmph till now-but all was good-so guys if your Himi is tingling/rattling/vibrating,a fastener re torquing is in order.

Hello friends
I got panniers & pannier rails from RE. While fitting them i noticed fitting of pannier rails is not proper & is misaligned at two places as shown in pictures. Has anyone faced this??
I have tried many times but this remains same. That seems to be a manufacturing defect in either pannier rails or chasis of bike.
Any thoughts..??
