Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
That's actually right. I rode my bike today in rainy condition to office and if you ride responsibly you'll not face much problems with Michelin Pilot Sporty. However the wet grip is really a big downside of this tyre. I'm not feeling the same level of confidence while riding on wet road which I felt with stock TVS Remora Tyre. Yes it is that bad for wet surface that I'm considering the stock remora slightly better for wet roads. The Dry grip is good and above Remora's though.Originally posted by vikundefined View PostDo not blindly believe on the feedback shared by other user, compared to Michelin Pilot Street Pilot Sporty does offer lower grip level but its not as bad as you're thinking. You should have gone for Michelin Pilot Street 140 size instead of this, however as you've already got the tyre try this for sometime and I am sure you'd realize that its not that bad.
Will use this tyre for sometime now as I don't think the dealer will replace it now. So I'm stuck with it. If anyone thinking of buying Pilot Sporty please don't make the same mistake. The tire is good for hot summer roads but even the Stock remora are better in handling the wet roads then this.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hi,
I have been using RTR200 since last 6 months and completed 8200 kms till now. Even after riding it for 8200 kms engine doesn't run smoothly. There is lot of engine braking and pickup is not as expected. Gear shifts are not smooth and gearbox feels clunky. I drove other RTR200 of my friend which is far smoother than mine with same odo reading. Please suggest me what to do and thanks in advance.

For the engine part, you might need to get the carburetor tuned.Originally posted by Krishna85000 View PostHi,

For the gearbox part, maybe tighten the clutch wire for smoother shifts?

As of now it's ok but using 10w40 or 10w30 during winters will be fine.Originally posted by Logesh Kumar View PostHi guys can I use motul 7100 20W50 engine oil for my apache 200 (race edition). If yes, can it cause cold starting problem.

Are you for real? Michelin PSR, lacks wet grip? I'm amazed cos it's the exact opposite of what you're saying. It's a soft compound tyre, so it has higher grip on surface dry or wet. I myself got RevZ S 130/70 for my P220 rear. It's also a softer tyre that too at nearly 60% cost of PSR. with sister tyres, grip I'd phenomenal especially the wet grip.Originally posted by sanz112 View PostThat's actually right. Don't use 20w50. The recommended grade is 10w30. You can use 10w40. Never go for 20w50. 20w50 is more than twice as thick as 10w30.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Guys
4 months ago While lubricating my chain with a brush, the brush got stuck along the chain and the chain got removed. After fixing it by local mechanic, It got repaired. But after the completion of 4th service I got an annoying sound in my chain. When I asked the local mechanic, he said that ASC can replace the new sprocket of your bike with the old worn out of the another one in the service.
What I am trying to ask is "was the mechanic said is true or The sound comes because of the chain damaged due to lubrication?"
Someone please help me regarding this, Coz I am facing this issue for a long term.

OKay Bro Thanks. I will then return it and ask for 10W30 grade oil.Originally posted by ayrus View PostDon't use 20w50. The recommended grade is 10w30. You can use 10w40. Never go for 20w50. 20w50 is more than twice as thick as 10w30.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hi, I am considering buying an rtr200 it has 14k on the odo and is in good condition with extended warranty for this year. I have a couple questions before I go ahead and get the bike. First, how is the comfort on the bike as this is my main concern I was previously looking at the ns but every bump or pothole was felt and the rear suspension felt too stiff. Is the rtr better in terms of rear suspension and to what extent is the comfort. Second thing I'd like to know is that a lot of sources say the bike cannot start without choke in the morning, is this a flaw and anything to be concerned about? I am curious how much difference in maintainance cost would it be compared to say fzs? Thanks in advance

1) The suspension is on the softer side for apache 200, whereas NS 200 have a stiffer one.
2) cold starting problems happens in every carburetted bikes, Use choke only if necessary and Keep the engine idle for 2 mins during rainy seasons.
3) Maintenance cost maybe low, but its too early for me to say, since I have clocked only 8k odo.
Anyways have ride at the bike and make your decisions. I can only share my experience...
Thanks..
