re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences

Some bad news for people in Kolkata waiting for the bike.
    1. The dealer has lost its trade license in the process of shifting it's showroom. So it can't officially sell a Vespa or an Aprilia.
    2. What the company can do is deliver bikes to Kolkata customers from Patna.
    3. What does it mean? It means an extra payment by customer upto 4-5k if he wants to do so. Or wait for 2-3 months for either the trade license to be renewed or 2 more shows to come up.

As of now the bike will set you back by approx 89K Onroad. I guess the highest Onroad Price for SR150 in India. Bit if you are willing to wait then you may get it for 84-85K.

    Your choice.

For me, I can't wait so i'll pay that extra and get to ride my bike.

And finally after an escalation they confirmed that my booking number is 13. So hopefully I will get it next week. Fingers crossed!!!

        @keshavRrulez nice DIY there !

Okay so here is the servicing update:

First service was due between 15days to 30 days or 750 kms whichever comes first. The service cost came out at Rs 268/- . Added USB charging port costing Rs 898/-.

        Total : 1166/-

The service as mentioned earlier was free and only oils were charged. The second service is going to be chargeable at Rs. 395/- as service cost at 2500 kms. Now the best part is the recommended oil change is at 6000 kms. So the service guy said the will skip oil change at 2nd service or top it up if needed. So no compulsory oil change. Though I might opt for a change.

Extended warranty of two years is priced at Rs 5xx/- but is currently not available. Will give an update when i get it.

        Mileage:

The efficiency figure stands at Rs 2/Km. where the scoot ran 172 kms in 4.81 liters of petrol.. The number is before service. The bike so far has run just 366 kms in total.
        172/4.81 = 35.75 kmpl

Fitting of USB chager was straightforward process, where the coupler/decoupler of the charging port was attached to the provision given on scoot. I chose to hide the coupler inside when given an option to keep it in under seat storage. the size of it nifty but to pass the wire the storage bin had to be drilled a bit. So not a plug and play. Haven't tested it yet. Click image for larger version

How much for the bulbs? What brand? Did you change the battery to compensate the power usage?

Does the seat hinge have free play? Sales guy said its is rectified in new models and only demo bikes got this issue.

But no OEM does this hang-by-wire install. Not even sleeved wires. Almost all others brand got a proper flush fit install. It's rather cheap for a premium brand like Aprilia.

Seat hinge does not have any play and fits perfectly and does not dangle on opening, at least for me.

I am going to get the charger on my other scooter (Jupiter), let me see if the quality is different.. Also will see if it can be plugged into Jupiter, if so that will be a better bet to go for.

No, I did not buy it, Its pirced at Rs2744/-. Will have to confirm if it fits in storagewith showroom when i go there to the number plate fixed, i presume it should.

Only Steelbird Air Helmets has a vent in the top for air circulation. From you pics this looks similar to Steelbird Air with Aprilia SR 150 Name. This cost around 1500 - 1999 in the market based on the Graphics in the helmets.

I am planning to get this beast helmet for my SR 150

Vega is not producing Air Ventilated Helmets.

Hey....just a query...could you tell me the contents of the toolkit set?

P.s., here in Goa the only accessory available is the side stand. Which is sadly out of stock

Went to washing center for a Dashehra wash for the aprilia.

I somehow dont like pressure wash on the body parts but it had collected lot of mud hence went ahead.. The disheartening thing is the pressure wash caused the aprilia sticker near the footboard come off. Definitely the issue with quality of adhesive used. The sticker felt flimsy, got torned and wont stay in its place firmly again. has now accumulated air bubbles too. Guys be cautious when you wash your bike.

While coming to office today, it had drizzled a bit. On signal where you have to take a L corner two motorcyclists were talking while riding and slowed down too much that the fast scoot was to nearly kiss them from behind. Braked and the forever eager front locked itself. The wet road did not help either; front skidded, lost and balance went off. Though i was aboard on bike and nothing much happen. This is probably 5th time the bike has reminded me that the tyres aren't good with wet grip.

Did anyone in Chennai got delivery of SR 150.

I am waiting for my to get delivered as the Registration is still pending.

Also the accessories are not available with any of the dealers in Chennai (except Side Stand). Understand from the dealer that they are still waiting for the accessories to be received from the factory. They even dont have any clue of when they will receive it. Will booking I opted for Mobile Charger and Floor Mat for which I should wait for some more time. I thought of getting the Floor Mat at least to prevent for scratches from mud shoes while the following is Monsoon season in Chennai.

Is that the case for all other cities except Pune ?

This is really unfair that a that PVPL is still not supplying any accessories for first batch of vehicles.

The First thing which attracted me is this Floor Board Aprilia Sticker.

But now I am Surprised to that the Sticker quality is very poor as it came out with in a month. Have to tried complaining about this to Aprilia/PVPL. Is this replaceable ?

Hey... Hope u escaped without any injuries.

The tyres are perfect for dry asphalt.... Lack of grooves doesn't allow water to escape easily. Hence the large surface area and lack of weight on the bike would cause the bike to slip.

Regarding front brakes. U need to use the continuous motion braking to avoid locking.

PS... Need to check my stickers..
