I completely agree this is a beautiful piece of machinery (apart from headlights) and perfect for ideal conditions... we did not get into a relationship for some reason or the other...no matter how much i enjoy riding this, i still feel something is lacking... hopefully i will find something that i will be connected to...

It does a bit of everything very well I feel, but not exceptional in any area. Just my opinion. Hope you find something closer to your heart :-)

      Hi,
After 2.5 years and about 17.5K KMs on stock tyres, I am looking to change my tyres. Main reason is that the bike is not stable under hard braking. My usage is strictly commuting with one or two long distance ride (~500KM round trip) a year. I am not looking to upsize the tyres as I feel the stock size is adequate for the power on offer.
If budget is not a concern and if I expect at least 15K mileage out the pair,
      1. What are my options if I am going for stock size?
      2. Is it advisable to downgrade the rear?
      3. Post changing the tyres, anything else that I would need to perform
      4. And finally, any suggestions for a shop around Salt Lake area in Kolkata would be helpful

      Thank you for your help.

        1. Massetter is a good option. Better wet grip, and its decently priced.
        2. I am not sure about that. But I did, running the R15s REV-Z S 130/70, it definitely has more grip than the stock, and cornering is a lot easier.
        3. Nope.

Wider tyres wont offer higher power, they only offer better road grip and safety. You can even go for 110 in the front and 150 in the rear like in Dukes, mileage will reduce a bit though.

Well, I am not really looking to upsize. So, do you have any particular brand or model in mind?
            Thank you!

Hi guys, has anyone fixed an engine belly or engine guard for FZ25? It would be great if anyone can share the pics.

I have checked for the engine belly in Lluvia industries and in Autologue, but still not satisfied. I would need some help if any other references can be shared here.

How do we lower the rear brake pedal. Is this DIY or should we get it done with a mechanic? Can you explain or show any reference?

                Cheers!

Hi. From what I remember it needs a fair bit of disassembly. The adjuster nut is very tight. And the design is such that it doesn't come apart easily. Fairly easy once you take the cylinder off. There might be an easier way but I removed it only once during the mandatory 2 year brake service. Hope this helps more than confuses :-)

If you have the tools it's a 10 minute easy DIY. If not, a local mech can adjust it for free. Please Google brake pedal freeplay adjustment, and you'll get an idea.

                      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                      THE END

I thought I was the only one with this issue... 2 years and 23000 reliable, trouble free and untiring kms later, I still don't get that full joy I used to get riding my Apache 160.

Yes, the instant torque and the way it can sweep through traffic is awesome but I still don't enjoy cornering or pushing it to its limits. I doubt changing the tyres would give it the character I am looking for. It's a jack of all trades, this one, but master of none in my opinion. I would still wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for something in the lines of a new gen Unicorn, a reliable, trouble free and fun to a large extent, partner . I personally feel it's priced well as well.

Though, after a recent ride on a Gixxer, I confirmed I have to part ways with it, as I don't think I will ever connect with it like I do with a Gixxer or RTR. And will most probably switch to one of them soon.

Yes, narrowed it down to the naked Gixxer 250 & RTR 200 4v BS6

Good choice, go for gixxer, it's smooth and powerful and the gearbox is slick [emoji7]

Its bit odd isnt it... i have decided to give another year a try (basically waiting for long term ownership of Jawa).. may be i will try changing my tyres, upgrade it to a bigger size for more grip and lose some FE... if that doesnt do the trick then.. thats it..i have to part ways...
