Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Idk man when it comes to maintenance i keep it top notch, I recently did a 3500km+ trip to Gujarat with no issues whatsoever.Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostIf you ride fast(around 80-100 kmph plus intermittently and 80 kmph on average) on highway and congested city roads (in mixed cycle) Hornet delivers around 47 kmpl. If the air filter is old/clogged up my Hornet delivers 43 kmpl. If you ride at around 50-65 kmph as I did in the running-in period and now available not so congested city roads in moderate speed my Hornet is certainly delivering 52kmpl plus and still counting. By the way, I maintain my bikes and car well.
I think riding style might be it or the road conditions.
Anyways congratulations on the new buy, I am considering the FZ25 as well. Do let us all know how it performs for you.
Would love to know it's touring/highway capabilities !!!
Cheers

Congratulations sir [emoji106]Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostYesterday I gifted myself a new Yamaha FZ25 Monster Energy/Moto GP Edition just before enforcement of lockdown in Guwahati. Now I have to wait for 21 more days at least to ride it properly. I still have my Hornet 160R with me for its good average(52 kmpl plus) and other positives. What average does FZ25 give?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello all
After lot of dilema between Gixxer 250 and FZ 25 bought the FZ only because Of Seating position and the Suspension setup but the Gixxer felt more punchy though. Give me any bike I ride at 80-90 speeds, keeping that in mind I went ahead with the FZ( comfort over power).
Have done about 4k kms till now out of which 1500kms is of a trip to Mahabalipuram, pondicherry, Kanchipuram and tirupati.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Well, I quite liked the riding posture which is very comfortable for my height (iam 6 foot tall).
And about the famous coin rattling noise, I didn't find it much bothersome.
And how can I forget the first service experience
There were multiple oil leaks after the service, also I was charged 150 for chain cleaning and lube
All they did was lubing with used engine oil.
I felt there was no point in arguing with them.
Later went for a short ride and I felt sluggishness in the engine, it felt too lazy to be revvd beyond 70 with more vibrations and oil leaks has increased
Went back to the service centre again and asked the mechanic about the engine oil quantity used( as the oil is leaking from the bolts on the engine, not the gaskets)he over filled by 150ml
1450ml was supposed to be filled with oil filter as per the manual. Where as he filled with 1600ml. Which he admits that he has been doing the same for all the FZ25's
Just left from there, came home drained out the extra 150ml oil, things are normal from then.
Regarding the engine oil, it's good only for 2500kms. Bike feels rough after that also the vibes increase on the handle bar.
Will opt for motul 10w 50 FS or the will try out the 15w50 liqui moly street. Not decided yet.
Few more pics of the bike
