    Has anyone solved their tappet noise issue by using any particular engine oil other than stock?

    Can you please list down all oils used which still didnt solve the noise? Im looking to change oil on mine but have to try multiole..so will avoid those which didnt make any diff to tappet noise..

      No oil can solve this issue. maybe placebo effect can for sure tho,jk (but nobody has done actual tests with repetitive results so i'll stick to my placebo theory). you can try going above 10w40 to something like xw50 or xw60 and test yourself, but it will affect performance of engine/oil pump.

        No difference, based on experience with 10w50 on my friend's bike and 10w40 on mine on long rides and in city.

        Have done rides (with him) of 150km+ at high speeds, low speed cruising on state highways and have got stuck in big traffic jams. Both engines sounded the same. Also, I have tried a variety of oils from Yamalube, Ecstar, Shell and Motul. So yes, slopegatri is correct, oil doesn't make a difference.

        10w50 feels a bit smoother and feels better at high speeds (constant 90+) and higher temperatures. No/negligible loss in acceleration.

          Its a inherent noise which will never go ..it's not audible when you put helmet so don't worry . You can try fully synthetic oils but it's just waste of money either stick to yamalube or use shell ax7.
