Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
In Kerala, the bikes which has ex showroom price more than 2L will attract 20% road tax. The price on road is 2.90 for the 390 since the day it was launched. The 390 in KA costs 2.91 approx with 18% tax and subsidy on top of that. In KA, The D390 was 2.75 till March 31. What I know unofficially is, the handling charges are totally waived in Kerala. Its very very strict there not to collect handling charge. But here in KA, I was surprised to see handling charges when my friend took R3 and another one took R15. No matter what we said or provoked them we will complain , they just said go ahead, and we were forced to pay handling charges. Here in the case of duke, I reckon the handling charge is already included in Ex-showroom price(confirmed unofficially through a friend working in a KTM showroom in KA) and hence the ex showroom is more(its little high even without Handling charges, compared to Kerala) and hence the difference of ~1k-2k on on-road price. And more over, the 2.91 on road in Bangalore is with 3 years insurance, while 2.90 is with 1 year B2B insurance in KL.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostI reckon in Kerala tax rate for motorcycles is 6%?
Still Kerala attracts the most taxes for bikes above 2L. 20% it is. Though it's straight opposite for cars.Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Spot on, Ivin that's the reason I asked the same question, was it 6%. From what I heard, bikes above close to 1.90 in KL attract a rate of 20% tax rate. The handling charge is purely an eye wash. There aren't specific law to make sure the customer doesn't get conned in the name of handling charges, and it's far worse for cars as opposed to motorcycles. Tamil Nadu charges 8% of the invoice value, MH charges 10% of the motorcycle above 300 plus cc, Kerala charges 1.90L worth bikes at 20%. MH charges 20% if the same bike is registered for non-private use. If we take that into equation, MH and KL are still swags when it comes to cashing in their coffers. It is definitely imperative of the implementation of a law specifically nullifying the theory of handling charges.Originally posted by Ivin View PostIn Kerala, the bikes which has ex showroom price more than 2L will attract 20% road tax. With motorcycles getting pricier by the day, new rules, the government should help nullify redundant and superfluous costs, after all we are paying a heavy tax in the first place.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Just took delivery of the new 2017 Duke 390.
Really really smooth for a single. Much smoother than my older 390. The raw aggressive nature though is lost
The TFT is slightly glitchy, hopefully they'll solve it with software updates.
and yes, surprisingly every damn 390 out for delivery had that "ECU FAILURE" message when starting them up. I think it's some stupid logic KTM is using and hopefully they'll push an update.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yes deliveries have started.
Update on the console.
It's really buggy. Damn thing restarted once while riding and my ODO went back 4km!
Really pissed off right now. Two friends of mine encountered the Same issue. Both of them also had their LED's turn off for 10 sec . This issue has also been replicated by some motovlogger on YouTube so im guessing this just a software bug which they should put an update for.
Otherwise, the bike is beautiful, sharper, smoother!
Will keep updating on this

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
It's a pattern and a combination of settings that make it happen. Like for example, if the date is not set,it defaults back to 2016 and you try going into setting the date while riding above 100kmph, the entire console resets! My friend tried this below 100 and it works fine.Originally posted by chiragsthakur View PostNope other than this headlamp 2 secs on/off issue, I havent come across any other yet.:touchwood:
The very fact that every 390 is facing the LED cut off means there's some serious software glitch that they need to update. It's just that people aren't triggering those functions to make the console crash.
