If you looking for performance and tyre life both then would suggest to go with the most proved combination of stock Metzeller at the front and Michelin Pilot Street Radial at the rear.

For me am using my Duke 390 as one bike for all be it ride or daily office commute hence chose to go for Pirelli Angel CT and also wanted to find out how they perform.
And my feedback about them is like they are similar to MRF Revz or maybe a bit better I believe and it only costed me rs.2900/- for the stock size front. So the VFM is also good.

Next am planning to go for Timsun Tyres both front and rear at once.
    Front would be TS823 110/70
    Rear would be TS822 140/70

Two more months to go [emoji869][emoji869][emoji869]
Did you feel any problems while mixing the tyre brands between front and rear. I am about to replace my stock Metz to Pirelli just on the rear as I feel there is plent much left on the front (Stock Metz), but many of my friends advised against it.

    Cheers,
    Aswin

There must not be any issues unless there is difference in grip between both the tyres.

No there was no problem that I ever felt while mixing the brand's.
Initially when I had only replaced rear as front Metz had still a lot left in it(cause generally front tyres always last longer be it of whichever brand and type) I loved the combination so much and it's been followed by many others aswell. Since you need most of the grip in front tyre to keep you confident when you grab those handles in a corner or any random curve. Rear needs grip too but that can be managed if it's comparatively lesser than at the front. And this combination of Metz at front and Michelin at rear was the same providing a good balance of grip n life.

Secondly when my front Metz passed out it was Pirelli Angel CT (pay attention it's CT not GT) which are better for regular use but handle corners also but not the way Metz can. So this combination I currently have is and more of budget oriented as I also have to use my bike for daily office commute.

I would say go ahead with the Pirelli at rear and keep the front stock Metz as it is.
You will automatically know when it's time to replace the front.

Just wanted to know which Pirelli are going for at the rear?

FZ25 user here, just want to know more about Angel CT. is it really marginally better than MRF ? i have recently placed an order for front one as it was the only better tyre available on stock 100/80 size. maybe i should return and go for something better ? (not just corner but straight line grip also) any suggestions ?

also, upsizing tyre has any effect on working of abs ? i know handling dynamics change. but what about abs ?

Would rather suggest you to stick to the same stock size at front coz upsizing might need the ABS to be recalibrated.
Also upsizing at front will rather make the handling heavier (which is not good thing at all) and you might experience oversteer a lot until you get used the the added weight in handling because of the bigger front tyre.

And yes I have felt the Angel CT to be better than the MRF Revz. Maybe someone would have different personal experience but I am giving mine based on my experience on Duke 200s and a few 390s which were replaced with MRF Revz at the front and when compared them with the setup on my 390 I always found mine to be more effective.

Thanks. so i should keep it i guess.

also, how does it compare to stock metz on d390 ?

                  as expected.

actually i should have worded my first question a bit better. thing is i want much better grip compared to stock zapper fx1. now it seems like angle ct is although better. not that much better, unfortunately there's only 2 other options left in stock size -

Buy 100 80 17 two-wheeler tyres online, compare prices, find your tyre size, pressure, warranty options etc for all major tyre brands in India.

                  anyway, thanks for your input.

                    Thanks Nikesh for the info!

I am thinking of going with Rosso 2 at the rear as the grip levels are kind of same as the stock Metz and price wise also similar. Any idea on the Rossos?

OK guys. A little bit of head sup. I am not sure it will help or not. Yesterday one idiot came and slightly nicked the sari guard of my bike and broke his front fender.
Nothing happened to my bike, not even a scratch. Thanks to God. Touch wood.

Now the twist in the story is the guy who hit me claims I suddenly applied brake (the car in front of me braked and turned without indicator ) and he was not able to brake in time so he hit me and I should pay the damages of his mudguard.
In the end after 2 hours of argument, we split the damages as half-half. There was no further options other than visiting a police station and resolving.

The couple of things which are funny and silly at the same time in this whole ordeal is, since I had a duke 390, its automatically my fault. I should not have braked so suddenly and all. Its like the bigger bike/vehicle is at fault automatically. Since I had ABS and disk brakes I should not brake in the way which endangers people behind me and all.

To me it sounded like a load of stupidity to extract the damages from me on the whole. Correct me if I am wrong and if you guys have faced similar situation. Don't know have an internal feeling that this might again happen with somebody else.

Also I was planning of removed the rear mudguard and the Saree guard to have that neat rear look and may be if I have done it, he might have hit my tire and not ended up breaking his mudguard or may be he would have damaged more stuff. Cant say what might have happened in that scenario.

Any pointers to how could this be totally avoided in the future and also how you can defend yourself when it was no fault of yours.

Sorry to hear about scenario. I don't think there is an alternative to this idiotic scenario.
Instead of accepting his mistakes, he went on and on about duke 390, its disk brakes, ABS, u sit on a desk and work,,bla bla bla,,

One more thing i forgot to mention is his scooty was just 4 days old and didn't have registration plates nor any sort of accessories to protect from such scenarios.
If he had the accessories may be it would not have broken.

Complete illogical arguments to win his way out of this. I could have dragged it to the cops, but i think the cops as soon as they see a duke will side with him on this, though it was the moron's fault.

Its like every Duke 390 rider out there is a maniac. Generic mentality plastered on every Duke rider.

The same kind of scene happened with me also.
A couple of clge kids on a activa rear ending me when a truck suddenly stopped on a two lane state highway. I had just missed the rear fender of truck by a feet. But this activa guy smashed into me damaging his mudguard and Front Portion.
Not much to my bike expect a bended number plate.
But they understood there mistake and said a couple of sorry and i made them leave also..since i just had a bend number plate.
In your case its the mentality of scooty guy made the situation worse.

Shouldn't have paid him i think.

I don't have any consideration for someone who bumps me from behind. People should learn from countries like Japan where people maintain so much distance, take accidents seriously and don't trod just millimeters behind.

Are you referring Rosso 2 H or W rated tyre? Both are miles apart.
I am using Rosso 2 W rated ones got from Mojo showroom, the grip level are 10-20% more than the stock Metz W rated until 75% tyre wear. I havent tried either H rater Metz or Rosso 2.

Rosso 2 does last 4-5K kms more than the Metz aswell, can last upto 15-16K kms. Only drawback I'd see it wears out faster on concrete cement roads compared to other tyres. Also they are ₹4K more than the Metz W for the pair, stock metz are ₹10K-11K for the pair, where as Rosso 2 W are ₹14K for the pair.

The reason why I told sujithbvm 3 months back I think in the "below quote" to not to go for the tail tidy route or remove the rear mudflap.
With ABS we tend to come a stop much sooner, which again happens to be our fault.

Rear number plate holder and other things helps a lot to save the rear end brake light section when tailgating idiot bakes into you.
