In the end I had unknowingly given Viva and he had given for me , we both realized this after we came out!

This is by far the best bike in the segment. bought it on 9th June 2016 when the bike was fairly new. So fir did 12000 kms and availed 3 servicing. Bike is definitely eye caching and is a beast, riding position is absolutely fine and can do touring on this bike, I have done a single day stretch of 520 km with ease. Pillion might face little problem though but for long rides it is recommended to go without pillion. Mileage: In city I have got mileage of 12 as well once in in bumper to bumper traffic of Delhi. That was only once though, the regular mileage that speedo shows is 28 kmpl and checked it multiple times for a distance of 1000 km in city only so it hovers around 28-30 kmpl but that is speedo reading, the actual mileage is 22-23 kmpl. I always fill petrol for 500 RS and push the bike to go 150 km in that amount and most of the time it goes till that point. sometimes do need to refuel at 135km. Parts replaced: Digital Speedo has ghost image problem so it was replaced under warranty at 4835 km. Radiator is supposed to kick in after a particular temp. but radiator was very intermittent got it replaced under warranty too. apart from that at 11k got chain set replaced for 3200 and disc pad pair replaced twice. Heating: If you are riding bike in a moving traffic the temp bars will not go over 4 bars out of 8 and will remain managed, but engine heats up in bumper to bumper traffic. You cannot ride the bike in shorts or flip-flops, it will literally burn the skin in hot summer day. I learnt to live with it, though not a big thing to adjust. Keep lubricating the chain after every 500km and keep a check on coolant level. Handling and breaking is very good. Cons. - Heats up but you can live with it, don't let your gf wear open footwear in summer afternoon on this bike it could be very uncomfortable. -RPM is not stable in idle - Hard to ride at slow speed, gives jerk, rides well after 4k rpm - Maintenance is little high as parts are bit expensive, front disc pad for pulsar 130/- for duke 2800/- rear is for 520 around, 1 single indicator 700, radiator 1800 headlight assembly 12k Pros - Best value of money bike - Best looks - Handling and breaking is awesome - suspension soaks up everything - digital meter displays alot of info - Best for touring and a lot more... overall good bike nothing comes closure when looking for a bike in this range a complete bike, very happy with performance over last one year and 12k km. DUKEism....quite short weekend ride, but a lot of fun.

They told four wheels were better then two.
        So, I bought another motorcycle!

Im planning to upgrade to duke390. Im planning to buy a used 2018 d390 since my budget is not upto 3 lakhs
During my buying process wht r the things should i check if the bike has any issues?
Does d390 has any common issues that i should check?
Also whts the mileage u guys are getting?
          How the service cost?
Do v need to use only premium petrol on d390 since it has high compression ratio engine?
Sorry for so many questions since this is my dream bike
          Thanks in advance

Ashwin asked about aux lights, unfortunately the mobile app crashed and strangely removed both of ours message. Sorry about that Ashwin. But to your question, yes there dime a many Dukes with AUX lamps installed. Go ahead, but make sure you install it at the right mount point, with good quality gauge wires and good quality, jerk free switches, and you're all set.

In some parts of the country, traffic cops are on the lookout for cheap LEDs. They stop the vehicle, and make sure they are hammered in front of the owner, and moral policed why not to use. Just, food for thought.

              Cheers!

              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thanks VJ! Also I has one other question, I changed my chain sproket at about 14000kms. But after that probably doing around 70kms I can feel the chain resistance/skipping somewhere, like when I press the clutch and let the bike roll everytime the chain reaches a specific place I can feel a small nudge on the footpeg. I have shown it to KTM svc and they opened it and lubed it and it went off but the issue popped up after like 200kms and kind of goes of after Lubing. Strange as previously I used to lube it at around 600kms intervals. Any thoughts on what could the issue be?

                Thanks,
                Aswin

You mean the tight spot that you feel at a particular spot when the chain rotates? If yes, then the chain needs to be reslacked at the tight spot and the slack adjusted accordingly. Too taut a chain will induce tight spots and cause noises and right chain rotation.

Try readjusting the slack at the tight spot of the chain, make sure the rear wheel is aligned perfectly with the front sprocket. Keep us posted on the progress.

                  Cheers!

After owning RC390 for 3 years I have now duke 390 with me from last 3 months.

Its the latest model with total new / different digital fonts and all. (Got to know it from friends and service center)

Bike has clocked 5800km and the rear tyre is already worn. Thanks to all the wheelies and wheel-spin. Damn! duke is monster in popping wheelies. (So much fun than my any other bike).

The rear tyre is good for next 500km or so and I'm looking for some new tyre.

I've zeroed on TIMSUN TYRES since they are pretty famous these days.

                    I've finalized Timsun 150/70-17 TS 712R

                    Amazon link : https://www.amazon.in/Timsun-TS-712R.../dp/B07W9KWJ68

                    My query :

                    1. Will the 70 side wall be a problem for direct fit in Duke?

I'm not talking about smooth tarmac. I've bought the Duke for trips, off-roads and all the fun. Do you guys think the 70 size would wall be a problem ?

                    2. Anyone using the same tyre ? reviews?

                    3. TIMSUN is not yet in Delhi yet and I have to pay 500 for shipping to total cost of tyre would be around 7k. Worth purchasing?

P.S. : I'm looking for a tyre with such look at shown above. For adding that off-road look for duke while keeping it for both road and off-road.

I have other bikes for cornering and other fun so I'll live without cornering in Duke. Any input on CONS on this tyre?

The 150/70R17 will be not be suitable, the tyre will be rubbing with the swingarm and you'll be increasing the height of the bike and this will confuse the electronics. I suggest you go for a 130/70R17.

Can't go that small on width.

140/70 I read is good and even makes the handling better for some than 150/60 since KTM's have 4inch rim only.

I guess 140/70 will be good, i completely forgot the KTMs have a 4 inch rim size.

Help me out with tyres peps
                            I am changing both tyre.
Looking for softer front tyre just so that it will wear out about same time as rear Metz M5.
I feel bad throwing away half worn out front tyre when I change the set.

2 rear = 1 front change can work.
                              Why wasting rubber ?

In my RC390 I did 5 rear tyre change for 29k total running but front but is still stock. Can run for more 2-3k km easily.

My shortest rear Metz life was 4300km (3 months).

1.5 rear=1front might work for me.
I feel not changing them simultaneously might mess up the confidence.

                                That's crazy. Were they w rated m5?
Also did you ever felt need to upgrade from m5H on rear?
I never had any complaints with them. I feel even m5w will be overkill for 390.
Front however routinely loses grip on hard braking. I can feel front abs kicking in.
