Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Makes me happy since I've recently purchased Timsun 140/70.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostGo for the R3s M5 Metzler 140/70. You get increased sidewall, plus the tire fits well making it appear bigger than 150/60. Secondly, wider tires 150 aid well in high speed stability.
140 fitting better will all round increase the performance a bit, especially contact patch.
R3 rim too is a 4 inch and so is my CBR and it has Zapper S which I won't any day recommend for Duke's performance. CBR being the hot fat chick, it's okay, but the supermodel Duke is better with Metz, my personal suggestion.
And then you have Masseters, MPSRs etc.
Hope it helps.
Cheers!

It's not a bad idea of using 1.6 bar cap as it helps the coolant stay longer in the radiator and hence cooing. But, too higher a cap pressure eating and you risk blowing off the radiator due to pressure build up.Originally posted by ksuresh92 View PostIs anyone aware of 1.6 psi radiator cap? I heard they are performing better in terms of cooling .
1.6 is the right trade off it even better, 1.5. But makes no major difference but it does help.

If you're under warranty, you'll get it covered and things replaced for free. If not, then seal costs 430 each and labor charges, fork oil will be extra.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Unfortunately I am not able find timsun in chennai. Enquired a few shops and they stopped selling them because they had problems with ISI standards . That's what I heard....
MRF masseters are non radials. Which leads to choosing Apollo H1.

There is a possibility of old stock, and also since no one is supplying here warranty claims are also not available.
If i see any shop selling them will get them. No luck though .Originally posted by Sird View PostWhy not order online?

I have been using rosso 2 after the Metz were done, this is my second set of rosso, so planning to try something else after this. I heard that H1 would last longer but how are the grip levels compared to Metz?Originally posted by ksuresh92 View PostUnfortunately I am not able find timsun in chennai. Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I heard dry grip levels of H1 is as good as Metz, but the wet grip seems to suffer when compared with the metzellers. But that is compensated with the extra miles we get.
Yet to try them. I just finalized to go with H1 after the others are ruled out..
How long does the rosso 2 run .. and how is the grip compared to Metz ?

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Have been using alpha h1 for past 6ks.my stock Metzs steel braids were visible at 7.2k.alpha h1 has been going strong, still approx 50% tread left.grip levels are definitely better in slush and gravel when compared to metz. with my limited experience,i haven't felt that the alpha is in anyway lesser than that of stock metz.online reviews seems to second that too.stock Metz at the front ran for 12ks.replaced with Metz M5.
Regarding the use of 140 tyres,i definitely think that one should not tamper with factory specs.the lack of chicken strips in the 140 might be a trade off for lesser corner grip?Last edited by Thamps; 01-10-2020, 12:14 PM.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Rosso 2 should run comfortably 10k but then falls off very sudden. During a trip my rear tyre had done around 9.5k and looked ok and I assumed I would change it once I got back. Did about 1000kms and the state of the tyre was like this:Originally posted by ksuresh92 View PostI heard dry grip levels of H1 is as good as Metz, but the wet grip seems to suffer when compared with the metzellers. Got it changed first thing in the morning
The grip levels are good specially in loose sand/gravel where Metz usually have a tendency to spin the wheels whereas never had this problem with the Rosso, but would prefer Metz more on the track though.
