A part from the humble splendor no less. I'm just unused to vibrations at the pegs, or have really sensitive feet i suppose..

Re: 2017 Duke 250
Update - Since the beginning of the tread i have been going on about the biggest pet peeve about the bike till date - Peg Vibrations on an otherwise smooth, smooth motorcycle. Maybe it was because i was too used to the Dio. This was not an issue on the classic 500 too. Imagine that. Vibes more annoying on a KTM than on a RE. That's a whole new benchmark there.
Some say it's only there if you put your mind to it, SVC people say "haan, haan, what else will happen if they ride around in chappals?" But no, two pairs of shoes and the vibrations are still there. Not done, KTM you've done a bad job here.
A couple of months of running around and searching for pegs and experimenting and it seems like it's fixed.
First, these extensions were removed,
Next came these speedwave pegs with a bit of foam on them.
Later reverted to these stock pegs with the Foam cover,
Tried to put these from the Himalayan which didn't fit.
And finally, Splendor pegs. these come with proper thick rubber that has this gap that isolates the most of the vibes. Beautiful.
One option is to force these rubbers onto the stock pegs. This works. This works well. Best week with the bike ever. after a proper long time i had experienced a 0 to 7.5 k rpm run with out the annoying vibes at 4k. This was with a Dirty chain too. But with this arrangement over time, the rubbers may get loose / fall off.
Other option is to install the rubber and assembly on to bike's peg bracket. Problem is, the footrest pin that comes with the pegs is a bit short for the KTM bracket. and the KTM's pins are too big for the splendors peg. One has to source out the Pins for the Karizma / CBZ or go with the nut & bolt arrangement. After much searching around JC rd and SP road, Managed to find the bolt and nuts but finding the pin for the Karizma is a bit of a challenge. Ran around town searching for Hero service centers and ended up at Prakash motors where a kind man remembered that he saw (one) Karizma pin lying around somewhere and handed it over for free. Next stop was at the SVC in Domlur, where they did not have stock of the part. For now, one side has the karizma pin and the other side, a nut/ bolt. hoping it doesn't fall off.
Usually, with the stock pegs, the vibes at the pegs start at 3k RPM and end at 5k rpm. So far, with Splendor pegs, no vibes at that range what so ever, and the bike is running like a dream. *touches wood* Pessimistically, if i had to put a number, i'd say this reduces the vibrations by 85%. with Lumberjack Boots it would be 100% i'd assume.
Here's how it looks -

Re: 2017 Duke 250
The pictures are amazing she looks stunning as she is awesome man you're living in such a good place.👌. Ride safe and these quality issues are not expected from a bike of this price. Very disappointed in Bajaj's way of things. Should complain to KTM i think. Because i too feel the klack while downshifting. And head light and speedo fogging I didn't pay for this i payed out of trust for a premium bike. What an experience.😱😨😪😢

On your 1st point radiator grill, actually i never felt it's required as it stands good in terms of quality and durability but if you want more protection and looks then you can go for it.. or simple mud flap can do the work, if you like to..Originally posted by _andy_ View PostThanks Parshu for your valuable inputs. Also I shall be grateful if you can shed some light on the first two points as well.
I have ordered the roller stand you mentioned. I had seen that earlier on Amazon, but it's cheaper on the website you mentioned.
Cheers.
On 2nd point - Yes they do give protection and looks good, as they give more sporty feeling to the bike but here also it's solely depends upon one's liking/choice as many owners prefer to keep their beauties stock.
For 1500 the deal looks great if the product quality is good..

Re: 2017 Duke 250
That click "feel" that you are experiencing in your motorcycle is due to insufficient clutch lever play or excessive clutch lever play. You might feel a small "krak" rubbing feel and then feel the clutch engaging. Adjust your clutch free play, at the lever and it should be fine.Originally posted by Roy80 View PostHi guys ... Is anyone experiencing a ' click' feel in the clutch lever while down shifting ?
Also does anyone have an issue with headlight and speedo fogging up ?
That's coz I am having all these issues ... It's just done 750 kms in one month till now and first service done !!!
Cheers!

Re: 2017 Duke 250
Exactly... That should not happen .. I spoke to the guys from KTM India ... I am giving the bike for a clutch checkup as well !!!Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostYa
it happens and there is a jerk in the lever too..
Get the clutch setting done. Mention all these issues during the first service.

I didn't feel any issue either in the city or on the highway.
What 'Click' do you mean? elaborate.
Fogging shouldn't happen. Get it checked.
Speedo and headlight .. I am getting it changed!!

Re: 2017 Duke 250
It's not confidence inspiring and it sure lacks the bite. But i think for city riding brakes are okay. For spirited ride changing the pads to a higher quality may help.Handling wise the bike is a gem.Must get used to the braking before you can have fun.Originally posted by presidency View PostHows the d250 hard braking experience without abs?
