Better stay out of malad svc, razorblades(has a 160) had a very bad experience. Now he takes it to innovative tvs,and i must say the mechs are pretty good there(had personally accompanied razor recently during the last service)
Ps- i am planning to buy a bike, was considering the apache 180,but looking at all these problems,i am in two minds.

Guess it is simply bad luck that you are facing a lot of problems. The SC people (read head mechanic) is quite capable of resolving most of the problems you are facing. Just one advice - Take up one or two problem with the bike at a time. Fix those and be sure they are fixed by riding for a day or two. And then take up the other problems. Usually working on lots of issue together creates problems and you are not even sure if any of the fixes are working at all.

You will have to visit the SC a fair number of times but this way you can do away with most of the problems described. Guess your baby is demanding way too much of your time

Yah. me too thought the same and my biggest issue is disk brake. Once that is done, rest can be taken care slowly. I am going for disk change today and i am hopeful that it works.

During first service, i asked them not to change oil with TVS True4. Instead I gave them Castrol Power1 4T and I feel that gear shifting is good now. It was just yesterday I changed oil. so want to wait and watch the smoothness of gear shifting. Even SVC guys are sure that Castrol is way better than True4.

Vibrations in handle are somewhere at 6.5k to 7k rpm. Is it normal

For front shocks, even after changing the front forks, I get the thud sound and am forced to believe that its normal in Apache. If thats true then apache has one of the worst front suspensions in India.

Yup Castrol is better than TVS oil (been using it for the past few months). The TV SC people just fill engine oil from the huge drums

Vibes at 6.5-7k is not quite normal, the bike should be smooth after 6k rpm (4.5-6k is the normal range ) Since you changed your front shocks that should not be a problem. Have a look at the wheels to check for alignment and balancing problem.

And the front shocks are pretty hard. Guess it is normal for Apaches. Don't worry about it. You'll get used to it.

Yes.I too feel the same. The front shocks are stiff. It gives a hard feeling when ridden over potholes and not as smooth compared to other bikes.

The bolts at both the sides should be loosened enough so that the axle can move freely in its slot, then adjust the small nuts equally on both sides. Once enough tension is achieved, reverse the process to tighten the axle in place....

                            • Yesterday I almost had a major accident, when my bike slipped in rain.I was at around 60kmph,when needed to brake suddenly, due to a truck crossing road infront of me...the rear tire slipped and the bike turned almost 90 degrees, when I let go of my bike. Then there was the funniest scene....I was standing at the middle of the road absolutely upright on one leg(left leg),and the bike, went rotating under the truck. Thank god the driver stopped the truck.or else I would have seen my bike being crushed.
What a scene it was.....but there was a possibility of I being dead.
Nothing happen to me,and miraculously nothing happened to the bike either...
The extension on the main stand(on left side) has made a some funny looking impressions on the road.sparks were coming out of it,when it happened.
(For people of BBSR-CTC:next time you cross the road near Phulnakhara, and see the lines on the road.....just know,I have marked my territory).

Caution:never ever take your girlfriend on a wet road with a TVS tyre.
First the tyre will DUMP you,and after that, your girlfriend will...

Scary stuff! Even I nearly crashed yesterday... tried to take a long left turn at too high a speed... ran wide lost space and managed to scrape the divider at around 60kph...

And worst part I can't even blame the tvs tyres But guess all's well that ends well.
