Most petrol tanks are mounted on rubber mounts, and are supposed to be supple.A slight left to right rocking of the tank is normal.Originally posted by kantu View PostI have a problem in my tank , i think the tank is not fit properly if i press on one side of tank it moves
, is it a serious problem can i wait till first service ? my bike is only 1 week old , done only 50KM till now
, i only ride in mornings so i will be flying on road humps most of the time is this the prob ???

Yes I did.I am more into 2 wheeler riding than the car I have.Bike is all about freedom and there is a freshness .,esp., when you ride along the sea coast, and through villages with green fields on either side of the road.Originally posted by rennycornelius View Post

the tank balances on a single rod on the chassis n it slightly bends if u push it on either side on any bike with same kinda chassis set up.Originally posted by kantu View PostI have a problem in my tank , i think the tank is not fit properly if i press on one side of tank it moves

The tank never sits directly on the frame. There are rubber supports mounted on the frame on which the Petrol tank is mounted, and hence the slight softness in mounting.Originally posted by dead_piper View Postthe tank balances on a single rod on the chassis n it slightly bends if u push it on either side on any bike with same kinda chassis set up.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

at the front of the tank there is 2 rubber kinds bushed on which the tank supports n a nut below the seat where it is tightened to the chassis., i know this coz i have removed my tank n stripped down my bike a gazillion times.,...... for mods n experiments n stuff

So you know EXACTLY how the Tank is mountedOriginally posted by dead_piper View Postat the front of the tank there is 2 rubber kinds bushed on which the tank supports n a nut below the seat where it is tightened to the chassis., i know this coz i have removed my tank n stripped down my bike a gazillion times.,...... for mods n experiments n stuff
. If you get any scratches on the tank touch it up immediately with paint to prevent rust setting in.

Though I love my bike so much, I cannot think of keeping it for 10 years!! By then, lots of things will change na.. like better roads, far superior bikes. I feel it will be pointless keeping it that long. Not like in the older days when there were very less new bikes and new tech coming into market.... I want to upgrade as soon as better options are available and I can afford them....Originally posted by dead_piper View Posthow many of you intend to keep this beauty for long time., say 10 20 years????
.
Just my opinion...

hehe... in a way, but you cant deny that they are indeed getting better. Atleast in my hometown Trivandrum, the roads are being widened and good, smooth tarmac being laid. There has been drastic improvement in the last 8 years I've been riding...Originally posted by kantu View Postgood joke
