1st service
OK so i get my RTR180s 1st service done at 491kms on 10-11-10,bike purchased on 27-10-10.Let me tell u abt my experiance 1st there was a tank leak near the reserve nob then there was a TIK TIK sound comming from the front suspension,we checked everything from removing the tank to checking the fairing and the speedo couldnt find it we even end up opening the cone setup finally we opened the forks and found that the springs in them were put upside down, what i mean by upside down is that there is a different levels of gap in the springs on both ends which you can see on the rear shocks neways so i realised that it was a fault from TVS motor factory they didnt put it the right way.The problem has been solved but i would like to know if it is true that the larger gap area should go down in front forks. P.S Engine oiled used was Gulf Pride 4t 20w-50(API SL/JASO MA2) I have seen the maintanance schedule they do nothing as per procedure they will just change the oil wash the bike and give it back to you.To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person u are.......

How do you know that the wheels are not aligned? Are you facing problems? Does the bike travel in a straight line?Originally posted by singh's bhp View Posti m little bit worried about this bubbling problem..is this a major prblem ,guys????
Be more specific with your problem and we'd be happy to help
You should be wary about using different spec engine oil, esp. in a new bike. The recommended grade is 20w40 or any xW40.^^^Engine oiled used was Gulf Pride 4t 20w-50(API SL/JASO MA2)Last edited by social; 11-13-2010, 04:29 PM.कृपया यहाँ पर ज्ञान न बांटे

Hi guys, help me put on this 1...firstly wen i ride leaving both of my hands my bike tends to go left..i never experienced this even on P220...
Secondly, there is a click- click sound coming from the rear... i have checked everything but nothing seems to be wrong except 1 thing about which am not sure...the two nuts on both sides of the rear tyre which are tightened to remove chain slackness shows that the the gap is more on the left side than the right..should it be like that or it should be equal...I thnk this is the reason for the sound... one more thing when i press the clutch the click click sound vanishes...plz help me out guyz its my new bike.. 465kms done till now..

From what you say ,your bike back wheel seems to be not in straight line. The small nuts you are referring to control the chain tightness should have equal PROTRUSION of bolts,in length,to ensure the wheel is straight. There will be markings on the swing arm near the wheel tightening nuts, and they should coincide equally in both left and right side of the wheel.Originally posted by avi91 View PostSecondly, there is a click- click sound coming from the rear... i have checked everything but nothing seems to be wrong except 1 thing about which am not sure...the two nuts on both sides of the rear tyre which are tightened to remove chain slackness shows that the the gap is more on the left side than the right..should it be like that or it should be equal...I thnk this is the reason for the sound... one more thing when i press the clutch the click click sound vanishes...plz help me out guyz its my new bike.. 465kms done till now..

IF its the rear wheel wobbling, then you should get it balanced so that it rotates properly.Originally posted by singh's bhp View Postdear friend ,my problem here does'nt corresponds to the riding discomfort or anything..bike runs straight and well

Mine is off by half a marking. I can see 4 and half on the left side and 4 on the right. Is it a problem. How do you adjust it?Originally posted by psr View PostFrom what you say ,your bike back wheel seems to be not in straight line. The small nuts you are referring to control the chain tightness should have equal PROTRUSION of bolts,in length,to ensure the wheel is straight. There will be markings on the swing arm near the wheel tightening nuts, and they should coincide equally in both left and right side of the wheel.

Half a marking difference will slightly pull you to one side..To adjust,.... loosen the Rear wheel retaining nut,and also the sprocket hub retaining nut .Now tighten the chain adjuster nut to get equal reading on both sides.THE CHAIN SHOULD HAVE 25mm(1inch) Up and Down play at the center.Re tighten the Sprocket retainer nut and the wheel nut.Rotate the wheel and see it is free.CHECK YOUR REAR BRAKE FOR BINDING,AND ENSURE YOUR CHAIN IS NOT VERY TIGHT WITHOUT SLACK.Originally posted by social View PostMine is off by half a marking. True..even in Chennai you see one RTR for every 100 Pulsar..Fellow XBHPian Kantu has RTR Hyper Edge...See it in 'Ownership Experience"..Apache RTR/F1 thread page 727Originally posted by bprags View PostThe RTR needs more than just ABS to improve its sales, it has been more than a month and I have not seen a single Hyper edge on road in Bangalore. TVS needs to revamp it entirely.

You can make your own tool kit..The correct thing to do is to pickup tools that YOU NEED AND IS USEFUL. A useful set for normal work should not cost you more than a 1,000/-.If you plan on engine work etc., multiply it by 4.Originally posted by social View PostDamn! And 1 RTR for tens of thousands of HH

RTR is not in same league as most HH
