Hey Guys,
I doubt my bike is running a bit lean but I am not sure about it.
How can I clarify my doubt without going to service center?
Actually, this doubt is in my mind since the last (3rd one) service my bike had and I sometimes feel that the vibes are even increased after that.Join my facebook Page: Life On 2-Wheels | Blog: Life On 2-Wheels

thank you for replyOriginally posted by rennycornelius View PostIt's normal.
Setting the slack of the chain should be done in a right way, please be sure of opening the rear sproaket nut, then match the 'lines' (marks on the swingarm) right.
If you have never done it before, get it done at the SC, learn it there, and do it next time by yourself.
did you read my earlier post about pickup problem
pls read & reply if you can
it'll be really helpful for me

There qare few tips that i usually follow first are the basics
I usually prefer a single petrol pump to get the bike top up as for me petrol plays a crucial role. I can easily feel difference if i switch to some other pump as petrol here is mixed a lot and bike starts coughing try some gud pump which u know did not mix petrol
Now if u want a crispy and smooth pickup i usually use Iftex well whoever says anything but try it i mix one pouch with 2Ltrs, but after mixing that, the bike feels smooth and pick up actually comes a bit punchyyyyy.
Lastly and not the least its the air pterol mixture which plays imp role.....well i just thought that it is of least concern, but if ur vibrations have increased the settings are more towards petrol side if u can find a good mechanic then ask him to increase air intake and stablize the RPMs some where between 13k-14k. Now just have a feel
Well this is my personnal experience, cause i have done that. The vibrations have come down significantly try it..........let everybody knows if it benefits u......

@rennycornelius
renny man this is regarding the chain getting loose problem., i have seen some ppl use some sort of a small sprocket attached to a tight spring that pushes the chain down hence increasing its tension n maintainin certain tension whenever the chain gets loose.
do you think thats a good attachment to the bike? its somewhere around 200 rupee. if possible will upload pic soon. its attached to the swing arm. has any of you guys tried this?

That thing is used in motocross bike to maintain the tension of the chain, to get rid of the slack all the time, as power is wasted to first "tense" the chain and then move the wheel.Originally posted by dead_piper View Post@rennycornelius

That is not recommended as it eats up the chain and puts load on the engine.
Keep an eye on the slackness of the chain at every 1000-1500kms, you'll know when it's more "slack'd" as you'll hear it snap plus you'll experience a lil more jerk between the gears when it's super loose.
That was a typo, right !?Originally posted by blazing180 View Postif u can find a good mechanic then ask him to increase air intake and stablize the RPMs some where between 13k-14k.Last edited by rennycornelius; 10-27-2010, 11:28 AM.The Magician"

Not at all.........i have experienced the same.....because that weired behaviour of RTR tacho getting rising up on high RPM automatically which was in discussion in previous threads. Even i faced the same but after the air petrol setup its gone and so r the vibrations which were there previously i got it done in front of my eyes from a local garage........may be its its totally upto the individual well thats my exp so i thought of sharingOriginally posted by rennycornelius View PostThat thing is used in motocross bike to maintain the tension of the chain, to get rid of the slack all the time, as power is wasted to first "tense" the chain and then move the wheel.

I think I found the solution for bike idling at 2-2.5k after riding for a few kms. Set the idle rpm only after warming the engine sufficiently (earlier it must have been set when the engine was cold. It was in my case.). That should do the trick. I did this a couple of days back and now the bike idles at 1.3-1.4k even after riding for an hour or so.Last edited by social; 10-27-2010, 12:39 PM.कृपया यहाँ पर ज्ञान न बांटे

Always set the idling RPM in hot engine, never do it on cold engine.Originally posted by social View PostI think I found the solution for bike idling at 2-2.5k after riding for a few kms. For morning startups, give 1/4 accelerator and start the bike and warm it up at exact 2000RPM for about a min.
For winters, richen your mixture by 1/4 to half turn, that will eliminate all the morning startup troubles and you wont be needing choke too.The Magician"

Guys had a word with the TVS Service engineer regarding the thud thud sound from the front suspension and he said its a problem of which TVS is also aware of and like the One way clutch they will take care of the problem free of cost. They have or they will soon communicate it to the TVS SVCs and the ones who are having this issue can get in contact with SVC. Soon i will get rectified mines.Originally posted by blazing180 View PostHey all just to share the resolution for this problem, mine was giving tak tak sound when ever i used to climb a braker or a pit. Mine was actually the piston inside the front fork. I dont know but the SVC guy used this term. I inquired its when the suspension is pressed and released, at the time of giving the back the pixton rises with a a bit more pressure. He expalined this is due to the oil pressure increase. Dont know, but that guy was a bit techi got hold of the issue very quick. I told him its the suspension and he agreed. He opened and checked the issue got it rectified. Dont know what exactly is the cause
Hope this info helps the guys who are having this issue.
