Gray Ghost!!
Just got my Gray RTR 180 delivered!! Days of headaches!! Had to really really stop myself from ripping it!! Felt da vibrations like mentioned in various posts. Heard a scrappin noise from the chain. Also, the front disc brake and the brake pads are in contact with each other without the brake pressed. Will get checked from the dealer in the morning!!! But Loving every second riding da bike!!!!

Running K&N without upjetting will result in lean mix. And if its not tuned well, there is problem+. Lean running results in more vibrations. If you are okay with regular performance and dont want tappet noise, go for 0.06 and 0.08. if you regularly ride in bumper to bumper traffic, go for 0.06 and 0.09 (there will be slight tappet noice from exhaust valve, but it will help in keeping engine cooler.[/QUOTE]
Can you give me suggestions for upjetting, cause i have searched the whole net and didn't find any useful information to upjet. if you know which jet to use for the RTR after fitting the K&N air filter it would serve me as a dream come true. I feel the TVS SVC guys are experienced in this but they cannot out do a professional. In a city like Nagpur it is hard to find a mechanic who can upjet your bike properly. So i have to do it all on my own. I must find the perfect jets and get it fitted. talking about the mixture i got it a 1/2 hemisphere from the original to rich.Last edited by whiteknight; 10-25-2010, 06:40 AM.

There are after market MainJET available, but in case you dont find one, simply drill one

Secondly, most part of the entire thing is Plug un Play, guide any mech who is known for better tuning to obtain a perfect mixture as Jetting / installation of K&N aint a big task compare to tuning part to obtaining a perfect mixture

TVS AS wont do it..

to drill one it would be a risky job. could lose my jet as the TVS spares are rarely available.
Besides Main jet should i also replace the pilot jet

Front fork problem

Hey all just to share the resolution for this problem, mine was giving tak tak sound when ever i used to climb a braker or a pit. Mine was actually the piston inside the front fork. I dont know but the SVC guy used this term. I inquired its when the suspension is pressed and released, at the time of giving the back the pixton rises with a a bit more pressure. He expalined this is due to the oil pressure increase. Dont know, but that guy was a bit techi got hold of the issue very quick. I told him its the suspension and he agreed. He opened and checked the issue got it rectified. Dont know what exactly is the causeEVERY MORTAL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OWN DESTINY

Hi guys,
Have gotten the engine oil changed to castrol power 1 and done around 100 kms. The vibes have lessened in the 4-5.5 rpm range. the vibes are still there but now they are more mature. the gear shifting has smoothed a bit as compared to TVS true 4 oil. plus now i am having peace of mind as compared to the 10W30 oil that the svc guys used.
I have a question guys....how does one set the idling rpm....is it a DIY job or i would have to get a mech to do it.....tried the tweak the screw in the carb but only the race has increased and the rpm needle when idling is set at 1k and doesnt go beyond that.
