As i had mentioned earlier, there's some intermittent "klink-klink" sound that i can notice during idling. The SVC engineer said its some bearing issue of the cam shaft. He said he'll replace the whole cam shaft and would take a week for the part to be delivered and half a day to fit. Hope fully that fixes the issue !! Its been just 2 months since i bought the bike and getting a part from the engine replaced.. Damn !! I know, its not a big deal and some times such stuff happen. But part replacement on a 2 month old bike doesn't seem good !!

Time to time servicing and thats all. Recently my rear shock absorber has gone kaput, now it is running on Pulsar 180 shock absorber because RTR rear shocks are not available in Kolkata and I have changed my sprocket sets which lasted for 30KOriginally posted by nisnth View Post

K&N Air Filter
Hey guys,
want to ask here which K&N filter is almost perfect for RTR 180
till date ODO 18K+
Research says some did fit R-1100, RC-1060 is it the direct fitment or need to adjust something? Can Good Service center Guy will able to do it?
pls suggest (don't want to play with jetting)
My friend has RTR 160 done ODO7500, he wants to change the oil to fully synthetic is it the perfect time to switch or wait for some more miles

RC1060 - remove pipe from Air box to Carb and fit directly to carb. Remove clean and oil it every 5k kms. Carb tuning to compensate increased airflow will suffice.Originally posted by ameyashogun View PostHey guys,

RC 1060 model K&N air filter is mostly used. You can fit it either directly on the carb by removing the air box or in the stock air box itself. But 'K&N directly on the carb + upjetting + tunning the carb & setting correct AF ratio' will give you performance gain, otherwise you are good to go by placing the air filter in the air box,if you want that typical bass growl of K&N.TVS SC guys wont do it,you will have to get it done from an expert mechanic who knows this tunning stuff very well.Originally posted by ameyashogun View PostHey guys,

Regarding engine oil,yes your friend can use FS oil in his RTR now as the odo is nearing 8k kms.

Bro.. if you are worried about engine life, then you should not be doing these... :P. When the engine is designed, the AFR is kept in mind with the stock design of air filter and carb etc. By using a K&N, you are increasing the airflow and to compensate the AFR, the carb also needs adjusting. So that mean the engine works with more air and fuel than stock... One cannot say that it does not affect the engine at all...
BTW, I've also done the upjetting at a later time. And if you fit the filter in the air box, the grunt sound wont be there...

Sorry buddy,I dont know the best mechs at your place, but I have a heard a lot about Reddys @Malad.He has a good reputation of an expert mechanic in Mumbai.Originally posted by lijok View PostBro.. if you are worried about engine life, then you should not be doing these... :P. You can fit the air filter in stock air box.For that, you have to attach a tube at the open end of the air filter which fits in the hole inside the air box.Dont put the hexagonal air box cover again, leave it open, there you go.Now rev the bike and you will hear the induction roar(bass growl). :-P
Any performance mod will lead to lesser life of engine.

Faulty coneset
I am getting a tik-tik sound from the front when ever I ride over rough roads. The SC mech says the coneset is gone and needs to be replaced. He quoted around 300+labour.
Is it covered under warranty
