Thanks Guys for helping Me out. Sorry couldn't quote who helped Me out. Also, finally got Her!! Although a couple of days back, but I was not able to log on due net issues. In between, I have some queries, hope someone could help Me out.
1)The Bike seems to be heated up a little when I come back from My journey,12 km at a time and total in a day as 25 km. I travel at two times, at 8 o'clock in the morning and 3pm in the evening. Also I get a bit smell near the engine.
2)A patch of road on which I'm travelling is kinda rough. I have noticed that I get a chik chik sound while being on that road. Not sure from where the sound is coming as I'm wearing a helmet. On rest roads, no such things.
3)As My bike is currently in it's running period, I drive at around 40km/hr, in 5 th gear so that is 3500 to 4000 rpm. Also I switch gear when My bike reaches around 4k rpm. Is it okay?Apache RTR 180 Bike Parts CatalougeOriginally posted by MirhawkI couldn't repair the Brakes, so I just made the Horn more louder!

-- I dont think security systems are that effective. Even hign-end cars that have those get stolen !!
-- Regarding gear change, dont let the engine rev to anything above 5000K. Even though +/- of a 1000K wouldn't really hurt, but why the risk !
-- The "chik-chik" sound can be from many things like the headlight assembly, the key chain(if you have one), rear shock-absorber springs or even the chain. Why dont you drive around somewhere in a ground without a helmet and check where exactly the sound is coming from !

thank you for your reply i'll do search for Reddys @Malad & let you know also. hummm thinking wat to do?Originally posted by Drifty View PostSorry buddy,I dont know the best mechs at your place, but I have a heard a lot about Reddys @Malad.He has a good reputation of an expert mechanic in Mumbai.
You can fit the air filter in stock air box.For that, you have to attach a tube at the open end of the air filter which fits in the hole inside the air box.Dont put the hexagonal air box cover again, leave it open, there you go.Now rev the bike and you will hear the induction roar(bass growl). :-P
Any performance mod will lead to lesser life of engine.
do you know where we can get Motul 300V 10w40 regularly. coz after putting Motul it's hard to get it again (or you need to wait for some time) wat you run?
@lijiok thank you for your valuable reply i am still thinking wat to do?Originally posted by lijok View PostBro.. if you are worried about engine life, then you should not be doing these... :P. When the engine is designed, the AFR is kept in mind with the stock design of air filter and carb etc. By using a K&N, you are increasing the airflow and to compensate the AFR, the carb also needs adjusting. So that mean the engine works with more air and fuel than stock... One cannot say that it does not affect the engine at all...
BTW, I've also done the upjetting at a later time. And if you fit the filter in the air box, the grunt sound wont be there...
may be i am not able to take the risk of doing the mod.

Here in Delhi, the SC flatly refused warranty for coneset. I checked out in a Gurgaon SC but was unable to reproduce the sound. There is now absolutely no sound coming from the front and the mech there was unable to see any broken or damaged part.Originally posted by flyingJian View PostAccording to SVC in Noida here, cone set can be changed under warranty till 10k Kms after that one have to pay.
Guess it must be alright then. I did bang hard into a pothole today, maybe that did the trick

Hi Chintu... Every bike is designed to perform well and give good mileage and also be as much maintenance free as possible. But, the way and rider rides the bike as well as the conditions in which it is rode, is the reason why issues pop up ! Btw, I purchased my Apache 2.5 months ago and I was in a similar situation as you are right now! After doing extensive research, I realized that every bike has its own issues (that can always be fixed!). So go for as many test rides and buy the bike you love the most ! SimpleOriginally posted by chintu2308 View PosthI guys,i am going to buy a bike.I want to ask that do apache have niggles or issues
with its cone set,one way clutch, engine heating and also do the mileage and pick up reduces after some time?

I visit the same dealership,Aditi TVS.Haven't found any mechanic so far who could do the job fine. They are so lame at solving problems and after every service I find something faulty with the bike..Originally posted by flyingJian View PostBrother after a thrashing from TVS higher officials
