    • Hey Guys

      Dear Friends,

I finally got my bike and I will soon upload the pics. However i have few doubts and I would request you to please answer my query on this.

1 My RTR's engine is heating up like anything, I can literally feel the heat in my legs . Is this normal ?

2 I have 0 % vibrations ( Bike Mfg date states as 27th September 2010, So I guess mine is from new lot, however i can feel vibes in 1 gear, may be the reason may be i give more then enough Throttle, any comments ?)

3 When does the Yellow light ( The petrol icon in techometer) glows ? Does it glows when we have less then 1 litere petrol, please comment. I had lost my Manual so i am asking these silly questions.

4 How to take care of new bike. I sometimes ride it very midly and sometime rip is like hell. Is it okie for do i need to control on this . I want longer engine life, your tips and comments are welcome.

      Thanks everyone

Yeah, its normal bro. Dont worry about this..

Isnt it too soon for this comment . I have also never noticed the vibrations, but that doesnt mean they are not there. Wanna test it? on a straight road, place your legs on the rear footpegs and ride.... you'll get quite a good massage, free of cost hehe

As per the manual, when the fuel warning indicator lights up, you have to fill up immediately - and thats it, no kms, no this much ltrs left etc. If you feel like testing it, please share the results with us tooo... hehe

Its adviced not to 'rip like hell' for the first few weeks... but riding with varying speeds so that the engine can go through all phases...

        Thanks everyone
Answers (IMO) in bold. Ride safe and enjoy!

You need the manual for the free services (it's got the slips for the free services). The SC guys are going to give you hell if you go without the manual I guess you need to get a new one from the dealer.

            Ride safe.

              • Strongly recomended:

(Though FI has more strong high end than the 180 but still try this )

Take the needle to 7000RPM in 2 gear, stay there for about 5-10 secs and just twist it, the power then wont trail off till 10500, and the pull may amaze you .

(Clutchless to 3rd and then 4th, just for the sake of the 'shift bang' and instant pull )

FE Expecting 40+ does it give?

Vibes: They are between the RPM range of 4.5K to 6K... and I don't think that is a factor due to which one should refrain from going for it if he/she(exceptions) likes it.

Seating Posture: The riding stance is kinda sporty but well-suited for youngsters. The posture of R15 is more inclined than RTR and still people love to tour on their R15. So forget about it giving a problem if you don't have any backache problem right now.

FE: Yeah, it can give you 40+ if rided sanely. My father extracts around 45kmpl from it even in Delhi(city riding)..whereas, at the same time, it gives me around 35-38kmpl(mixture of rough and sane riding)

Value for money: Yeah, Definitely dude. You will never regret spending 70K for the bike which gives you that much great acceleration and power

Now comes my question for all Apachians

While touring on the Menace, does splashing water on the engine after giving it 5-10 minutes break helps to some extent? Or it can put adverse effects on it?

A silly question probably, but wanted to clear my weird thoughts.

As far my experience goes :

Vibes : I must say I had negligible and more ever Vibes are trademark of Apache bikes. I think biking community had took this vibes things to the next level by over exaggerating it. the vibes are very normal and they will give you the feeling of riding grunty ride.

Sitting Position : Simply amazing. It completely gives you the feeling of sitting on a race bike. Initially you may get wrist pain( as i got) but it will subside in few days once your body adjusts itself.

Economy : Not sure, as mine is still brand new ( 1 week old ).

Value for money : 10000 %. I spent close to 80,000 on this ( by the time i finish off with my finance thing i may easily cross 1 Lakh with added interest). But let me tell you I do not regret. Even i am ready to pay more. this is just awesome ride and one of the best bikes in the country today. Take my words on it.

                          Never reached to 100 quicker

Clutchless shifting at high rpms is safe, isnt it?

@MPA I saw the SC mech push the empty area (the topmost part) above the tacho console for about 10 sec to switch off the service indicator.

switch on your bike and press the two buttons you have on the console for 10-15 secs and the service light will go.
                              Restart the console!
