    Dude take a chill pill.

Read I said "PSD". Does the Brazilian RTR come with PSD's too?

Anyways if TVS din't want they customers to lick the dust in the first place they would have given better tyres (read: Non TVS)

Anyway no point in continuing this discussion as you are hell bent on arguing that TVS = MRF. And you sole point for putting up that is the TVS Victor tyre which was definitely an experimental tyre which was phased out and later did not appear on future Victors. For a 100cc bike to wear out a tyre in 20 K kms means the tyre is ultra soft. Anyways that tyre in question did not appear in the market ever again.

Which brings us back to the conclusion yet again that TVS tyres are crap and there is no doubt about it.

What tyre in your opinion is good both in dry AND wet? I hope you don't suggest any trail/dirt tyres.

Actually no come to think of it, because our bikes have a 2.15" rim and even 100 sections need a 2.5" really. 120 section requires a 2.75" rim.

Just one thing to think about, why didn't tvs use their own tyres there?

Amongst MRF and TVS tyres you mean?

Personally only a trail "type" is what I have experienced and I find it exceptional in both dry and wet. Ala Michelin Sirac. But it does not fit in you condition of 'not' a trail tyre.

              Have you tried it?

I have only briefly ridden the IRC shod bikes and I found the dry grip to be adequate, dint get a chance to try in the wet. And quite frankly I feel those are some lower spec IRC's. If you are looking for something for your RTR, try something from the RX-01 or WildFlare series, they are definitely much more grippy than TVS+Bajaj.

                • This is how the IRC 110/90*18 looks.I hope the 17" also has the similar tread pattern.

                  • Drastic change in tyre pressure

Hi Friends, its being a long since I'm visiting this forum.

My RTR 180 has done 4000 km and 3 free services done. No major problems till now. Mileage is around 35-40 kmpl in Bangalore traffic!

The pass-switch goes off frequently. Is there any fuse I need to replace for that? I didn't check what the service guy had done last time. But the headlamps are ok.

Another problem is that , the rear tyre deflates fast. When I fill it with around 36 psi (Shell petrol bunk reading), within 3-4 days it comes down to around 17 psi. I could not figure out why this happens. If it is a puncture/leak , then the entire air should come out within few minutes. I'm not seeing any such visuals defects in the tire. My front tyre is retaining the pressure for long without any problem.

Can somebody throw light on this..

About the pass light switch, a spray of water at it followed by a spray of WD-40 will make it work fine all year long, it stops working and requires much more push due to the dust deposit between the contacts.

About the tire, your valve has gone, replace it.

No this isnt how it looks. I will surely post a pic tomorrow. Today it rained in my city and got a chance to test the tyre to some extent. It has got pretty good grip in wet and didnt skid even after i tried some hard braking.

                          • ^ That pic is from my bike only ... well the bike that i had that is

The IRC's on the P220 is quite different, there's no central groove , rather a zig zag center tread pattern. It has more contact patch than this tyre.

I actually meant, any tyre. And yeah, i don't like the way the Sirac looks.

Just saw about 4 new 220s yesterday, the rear IRC looks pretty cool actually. The front looks just like the stock TVS front. Can someone post the model no. of the rear IRC?

The RX-01 series seems to be a bit oversized, especially in the front. Look pretty cool though.

I went to the other exclusive MRF dealer yesterday. He said stock comes kinda randomly, the company doesn't send everything they order. Same price for the 90/90-17 Tubeless Zapper-FS - Rs. 1450/- which he had in stock. Looks like a good tyre. Definitely my front tyre choice. Following are prices for the Zapper-Q in 18". He had only 110/90 in stock.

                                . 90/90 - 1650
                                100/90 - 1750
                                110/90 - 1850
                                120/80 - 2150

I told him to call me when whichever comes first, the 90/90 (my first preference) or the 100/90.

+1 WD-40 is a must for all the switches. Especially the starter and kill switches.

Could overfilling (36psi) cause premature valve failure? Stick to 28 solo and 32 with pillion or loose grip.
