I too saw it at the 220 thread and it looks cool.

He had only 110/90 in stock.

    90/90 - 1650
    100/90 - 1750
    110/90 - 1850
    120/80 - 2150

I told him to call me when whichever comes first, the 90/90 (my first preference) or the 100/90.
    I bought 90/90 Q at that time for 1980...
110 is good but that 90 profile is too much, it should have been 80.

JULIAN i'll suggest you to go for that FZ's zapper (front) for the front,it looks good, is 100 section and soft compund.

And for the rear i think 120 will look out of proportion specially Q and GEO both, as they look atleast one size more than the size they are of.

Yeah, the 110 in 80 profile would be a perfect 88mm height. 99mm is just too much as compared to our stock 80mm.

The FZ front i think is too wide, i was actually thinking of downsizing to 3.00" from 90/90 but the zapper-fs doesnt look as wide as the TVS 90/90 so i think that's fine. besides there arent any mrf options for front in 3" i think in soft compound. Just 2.75" and then 90/90. Well, if its good enough for the bigger pulsar 200/200 i guess it'll be fine for our bikes.

I know the geo looks monster-sized but you're saying the Q also looks bigger than it is? Then that's great for me because i want the 90/90 Q. If it looks somewhat as big as the tvs 100/80 then it'll be great.

          • Scary front tyre moment

            Forgot to post this earlier.

Till now, i've had a bad feeling about the rear tyre. The front was fine except i felt it should grip more under hard braking. Yesterday i had a close shave, kinda like what renny described but i wasn't really pushing it. There's this big circle near my house (utsay chowk). It was noon, very cloudy, absolutely dry but the road must have been pretty cool and my tyres were barely warm. I was doing about 50-60 on the entry into the roundabout, not an aggressive turn but kinda coasting through at highish speed. I suddenly remembered the weather and the tyres and decided maybe i should be going a little bit slower. So i gently feathered the front brake and guess what? i felt the front wheel start to loose traction! In the middle of the turn. Let off the brake immediately and regained composure. It was all over in a split second so didn't have time to slide or even a head-shake. But i was scared shitless.
Reason was i had gone to the garage next to my house to check out my friend's car and wasn't wearing my helmet or jacket. And the funny thing is 75% of my accidents have been within 3 km of my house(s). I love wearing my helmet, but my only resistance to wearing it on short bread-runs etc, is i have to take my glasses off and then hold the helmet etc, which is quite annoying when your holding plastic bags etc. But i will be trying to wear atleast the helmet on short trips from now on if not the jacket too. I mean, the circle is just 500m from my house, but if i'd fallen there, i woulda lost a whole lot of skin and maybe broken a hand, based on the speed and angle of my turn. The tyre itself has only about 3-5mm of tread in the middle thanks to all my hard braking (done 18k kms and 18 months) but there's plenty of tread on the sides. My earlier plan was to change the rear primarily, but it looks like the front is going first especially since the Q is not in stock for a couple weeks atleast.

they have another track in hosur
i think it is dirttrack or they have not set tarmac for racing, it is underconstruction

There's a guy in the 160 thread who has FZ's in the front and it's looking superb,i dont think it'll look too wide.
And yes the zapper look little narrow than the same TVS 90".

Q and GEO both look bigger than their size, like the 90" Q will look more wide than the 100 section TVS.

It's good you corrected it and nothing happened.

                    The point is:

GET RID OF THE TVS TIRES.

About the tire, your valve has gone, replace it.
Thanks Renny! I'll try that. Changing the valve is an easy job or do i need to go to a service center?

Finally, what tyres are you guys recommending? (Make & Size). I'm planning to change mine after 10K kms, (its only 4K kms now!).

Also, with your experience which engine oil is THE BEST for Apache? (sorry for starting this thread again....!!)

get the valve replaced from the SC.

You have 6000 more to go with the tires till then enjoy loads of pages of tire discussion in this thread that may give fruitfull results....

The best oil is MOTUL, followed by PETRONAS, POWER 1 and VEEDOL.

LOL! Maybe they've embedded little spikes in their tarmac for added grip, which is why they're able to approve their crappy tyres !

It might not be such a bad idea because i'll get super awesome braking with FZ's 100 section front as compared to the 90 zapper-fs.

Perfect then, the looks won't be spoiled completely and i will get better mileage and acceleration.

The 180 service manual has it nicely detailed and with pretty pictures too! Also has the tubeless puncture procedure. Da vinci is nothing, this one's a must read!

Renny, i think he's talking about the tubeless valve, that's 50 bucks or something right? I'm not sure.

I'm probably gonna service the bike tomorrow. Been procrastinating since last week. I'm gonna change from Sprinta 5000 because the level keeps dropping too much to justify the cost and long drain interval which is no use really because it doesn't stay in the damn bike long enough! 440 bucks a litre! and drops to 75% in 1-1.5k kms.

My parts dealer said he's got shell advance vsx for 300 bucks. I saw veedol for 313 or 331 or something like that. I think i'll try the vsx rather than the sprinta semi synth which is ~350. All i want is a decent oil that's better than tru4 etc, which will maintain atleast 90% level for 2-3k kms.

Actually i was after the 100 section for my FIERO but the Q in 100 looked like 110 or 115!!
                            So i bought the 90.

I'am sorry, i forgot the 180's being tubeless.

The level is all fine after doin 1300kms on it..
i'all change it after 1700 kms..(tatal 3000kms i'am gonna strech it then i'll switch to m=MOTUL semi synth as i've found the dealer in INDORE)

POWER 1 is very good till 2000kms almost new like.
                            MOTUL semi synth is best.
                            go for these two.
