  • Engine repair!!

    hey guys!!
i was always asking about my engine noise.....problem has been solved upto great extent...
I showed my bike to service engineer. He checked whole engine parts(actual opening not inspection).Head, bore, piston, valves were ok.But real problem was in Crank Shaft. Its Bearings were gone. That was the real reason for noise, poor pick-up,lack of smoothness etc.
But now it has been replaced with new one(under warranty).Engine oil has been changed.Packing of engine is also done. Now engine is lot smoother and firing is deeper.
After this repair, first day it was not so different, but as i drive more,it became free and smoother.First time i touched 122 on my bike. There was still margin but due to traffic i have to hold.

As i suspected this should be the problem which my friend(in blore) would have been facing on his 180. He didn't have the patience to go round the svc so he ended up selling the bike and booked a R15!!

          @thmh201
          Congratulations for your newest purchase!!

With the DOT4, the braking is superb and consistent even at 17k kms.
But i'll save myself from that long flushing process till the pads change.
BTW which tyre you ZERO'ed for the swap???

I hear ya, that's why i didn't change my rear fluid yet.

Front 90/90 zapper from the new 220-dtsi. Haven't decided if ima run it tubeless.

Rear 100/90 geocruiser or zapper-q. Q looks cooler, actually might look skinnier than the geo, but i trust the geo for grip 100%.

              • hey...guys
will be booking my ride this week. please let me know what time-line are we talking about when it comes to tvs launching 180 with ABS?
and is it easily plug-n-play when i get it fitted later-on after its release?

i had got my 180 last year around diwali, due to various issues i had a horrible experience with the dealer & had to give my bike back for a refund. more so unfortunately due to other priorities i couldn't re-book another rtr. just gonna get it now. so please lemme know about abs thingy.

                thanks a lot.

It's highly unlikely that it will be a retro-fit.Even if it's feasible it will be very expensive that way.

Btw, do you mean to say that you returned your bike and got a full refund?

How much did he get by selling his RTR180 and how many kms had he clocked on it?
You can only ride better tomorrow if you ride safe today.

Damn, i thought you were talking about a twin, well a single would have to be something like the CB300 at the very least or we'll just have one more to add to the 220/zma list. And if you're talking price points, honda's 'premium' pricing would just give the rest of the bunch an excuse to loot more!

When/where/how/etc you tested the Q. Pls give details. I've used the Geo extensively on the cbz, damn thing is bulletproof and grips like it's on rails.
