After the 3rd service my rtr180 feels some hiccups(like no petrol feeling) in 3-5k rpm,i didnt care much at the initial period beliving myself it will be ok after some kms run,but still persists, but after 6k rpm its normal, guys what will be the problem
,also am planing to put k&n filter,is upjetting necessary as it has one of the largest carb
And also one more problem, the starter sometimes doesnt work for the first attempt, for the second one it startsLast edited by vishnups17; 06-10-2010, 11:02 PM.A LOST RACE IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN A LOST LIMB

Bike has completed 1700 kms, but now bike is vibrating more than it use to.
Like inital 1000 kms were good, and after 1000 kms i started ripping bike. Upto 1400 kms it was fun to ride, but now its vibrating a lot. What could be the reason behind it !!When approaching a corner, stay on the gas until you see Jesus. Then brake HARD.

There's no reason of vibration, it's........
well it's the god damn characteristic.
Mke it a habit of richening the mixture by half turns when your bike comes from the SC, as the "intellegent" guys there are told to tune the bike for more milaege always, so they always F% up the carb setting.Originally posted by vishnups17 View PostThanks bro,am really scared to play with my default carb settings, before i given it to svc for 3rd service, its normal,i dont register any complaints for the 3rd service but i think the svc guys had tuned my carb for a better mileage

Better count the number of openings of the setting screw and check it when your bike comes from the SC.The Magician"

guys...
layed my hands on mah ride on 9th. the bikes' awesome to ride & the exhaust node is music to mah thumping heart!!!
noticed some shade difference on the l.h.s. fiaring (the fit-ons on fuel tank) so, notified the sales guy n service center personal about it, they have verbally confirmed replacement of it. also yesterday, a dumb kid riding his scooter hit me from side while crossing an intersection. scratched the same fairing & a little on the front wheel pin-striping. luckily it wasn't a heavy impact. anyways will be getting that part replaced.

Well i agree its the characteristic of the bike, but it seems that it's vibrating more than necessaryOriginally posted by rennycornelius View PostWELCOME TO THE RTR TRIBE....

and sometimes it feels that bike has become old.
I am worried if this is the situation in 1700 km, what will be the situation of bike after 15k
When approaching a corner, stay on the gas until you see Jesus. Then brake HARD.

I believe the problem would be similar as that of amar_r15's bikeOriginally posted by abbydance4life View PostWell i agree its the characteristic of the bike, but it seems that it's vibrating more than necessary

Refer to the post chicane mentioned, and what are the RPM ares where it's hitting you the most??Originally posted by abbydance4life View PostWell i agree its the characteristic of the bike, but it seems that it's vibrating more than necessary

In all the RPM, but mostly between 4k to 6k.Originally posted by rennycornelius View PostRefer to the post chicane mentioned, and what are the RPM ares where it's hitting you the most??
Earlier there was no vibration felt on front foot pegs, but now while driving there is noticeable amount of vibration even on front pegs forget the rear one. Also i have set the idle RPM to 1300 but as bike runs for 3 to 4 kms it shows 2 RPM in netural. Again i have to set the RPM back to 1300.When approaching a corner, stay on the gas until you see Jesus. Then brake HARD.

5000-6000 is the most VIBES prone area of RTR...Originally posted by abbydance4life View PostIn all the RPM, but mostly between 4k to 6k.

I'll suggest you one thing for it-
Learn to live with it.
Chain sproaket set comfortably lasts to 30000kms.Originally posted by lijok View PostHow soon has the chain and sprocket of the RTR180 need to be changed? Mine has run 15k kms, and now the chain has been adjusted to almost 1cm from the limit. As I'm going on a long ride next weekend (Yercaud Mega G2G), our trusted mechanic suggested its better to replace it...
I dont think yours needs to be replaced at 15000.The Magician"
