yes move the chain up-down while moving up if it is around 20MM then bingo...its gud... get it done from a road side mechanic he will hardly take 10/- for that measure it by urself. also while riding make bike neutral at some speed of 50-60 in top gear. Now just feel whether it is running smooth.......this is where ur slackness is actually measured

Had a skid last sunday on wet road....speed was about 25kmph near a red light.
Reason may be the wet road (water tanker) and the tramlined road, leg guard slightly bent, front mask and exhaust scratched.
The jacket took the toll and saved me.
Atleast now I don't have trust on these tyres, getting them IRC-ed soon

Hope you are doing fine , even i had bad experiences with skidding , the problem is that if rear tyre gets locked up the rear wheel goes to left always(atleast in my 160 drum brake) and its difficult to get it back , that s why now i am using front brakes to bring vehicle to 0 at slow speeds.Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostHad a skid last sunday on wet road....speed was about 25kmph near a red light.

Mine too goes to right always when locked. To bring it back to line i have to give a sudden acceleration.Originally posted by abhishekch View Postmy goes to right always .on muddy road or soily roads a slight force on brake pedal locks the rear wheel.

Engine Oil for Apache RTR 180 before Long Trip
Greetings to all XBHPians...
Had a query regarding frequency with which Engine OIL should be changed. We are planning a trip to Malshej Ghat, a total distance of 240 KMS in all on Wednesday 26th Jan. Immediately on 28th, we will be leaving for Murud, which is a distance of 300 KMS in all.
My Apache RTR has done its first servicing on 700 KMS and the current ODO reading is 1215 KMS. Before undertaking a journey of almost 500 KMS in a single week, is there an OIL change which is necessary ?
If yes, then do let me know which one will be suitable for such a journey.

Just a thought, it's safer to use front brakes majorly (at least with the current set of tyres). Use front brakes everytime except on sandy and roads full of gravel.कृपया यहाँ पर ज्ञान न बांटे

I too have this problem. When ever i ride in heavy traffic will be usually in 1st or 2nd gear , on seeing a clear road if i twist throttle it just wont go (after switching gears also) it looses its power if i ride for too long in traffic (ie in 1st gear)Originally posted by A4D View PostHello people it seems there is some issue with my bike.Bikes chain is too tight which i will fix soon but the issue is that my engine seems to loose power like its not getting fuel i dont know what is it.I realized it when i was riding slow at 25kms.If anybody has a clue about it please help.Thankssite:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster

Guys,my bike's chain is making a ' kut - kut' sound when the tyre rotates.I had oiled the chain then also that noise is coming. The sound is coming from the front sprocket area. What may be the problem??Is this due to too much tightening of chain???

I've noticed this in my bike, and I found the reason to be the uneven tension on the chain. Put the bike on main stand, neutral gear, rotate the rear wheel bit by bit and check the chain slack. If the chain slack is not equal at all parts....thats it.Originally posted by Drifty View PostGo for Elf MOTO4 Gold 20W40(mineral oil) OR Veedol Super Swift 10W40(semi-synthetic oil).

I'm not really sure, but my mech says its a manufacturing defect with the sprockets and only changing them will solve it!! As I'm experiencing this with the new set of chain and sprockets, I'm going to wait till it becomes a real problems... hmmm

Yaa..it may be due to uneven tension.I will get the chain adjusted today from my mechanic.Let's see whether it affects or not.Originally posted by lijok View PostI've noticed this in my bike, and I found the reason to be the uneven tension on the chain. . Where do i measure this slack??. i guess at the bottam of the chain it should be 20 mm( u mean 20 mm movement up and down ?????) . i guess i will have to get it done by some outside mechanic.
