Hahahahh yeah! or assembled/customized it?
Performance is really good, because of bore/stroke ratio approaching RTR 160 levels, she revs very freely and effortlessly.
It still is a work in progress with the silencer's bend pipe work to be taken up shortly.
RTR180 levels of performance? i don't know about that and i doubt that as well for now.All i have is readings of the speedo and none accurate ones and frankly ,whatever i've gotten done to her is only for my satisfaction as i wanted her to keep on getting a make-over periodically to keep her young.
Coming to the compression ratio. There have been far too many changes made to the engine's squish area to be sure.Like the combustion chamber has been widened and squish area around valve seats have been increased too(to reduce compression). Then the stock 150 piston was a concave top with curved edges ending with about 4 to 5 mm flat top near the piston's circumference. Then ,with the flat top piston the compression is really high, which can be felt. The dynamic compression was high the last time around when it was checked over 180 psi i think. Now the dynamic compression will be even more because of bigger carb and a better RTR180 intake manifold increasing the engine's breathing. So will have to check that once again.
The reason as to why it has pulsar disc brakes and mudguard.Back then in 2004-5 RTR was, as i said still on the race tracks and not born yet.

@garry- i ride sanely as you have mention no sudden braking sudden acc all that, and corect tyre pressure i also had a fairly good run in with only once touching 108 kmh/r.i gradually increase the throttle.last time when i was checking mileage i rode sanely and touhed a 80 kmph max xeven with that i got 32 kmpl.i think my bike is running lean even then why such horrible mileage.is that because in the morinings when the engine is cold you have to warm it up a liitle and then go above 60 kmh???

Dude , how many kms you will cover daily and how many kms you will cover in lower gears ? blore traffic is horrible , you cant expect much if you are not riding in top gear most of the time.Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Post@garry- i ride sanely as you have mention no sudden braking sudden acc all that, and corect tyre pressure i also had a fairly good run in with only once touching 108 kmh/r.i gradually increase the throttle.last time when i was checking mileage i rode sanely and touhed a 80 kmph max xeven with that i got 32 kmpl.i think my bike is running lean even then why such horrible mileage.is that because in the morinings when the engine is cold you have to warm it up a liitle and then go above 60 kmh???site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster

Changed the clutch lever switchOriginally posted by Drifty View PostThe clutch lever limit switch does not allow the engine to start when the bike is in-gear & the clutch in engaged position. The problem seems to have occured again cause there might be some short circuit in the switch, hence it may sometime work or may not,get it verified from the SVC and replace it!
But after that the bike only started while i engage the clutch fully(earlier it started even with half clutch).I again went to the service centre and the mechanic did some clutch adjustment/setting and then it was all fine!!

@All
Here's a small excerpt from the NGK site about whether a spark plug can make a engine run hot or cold.
This is to prove about what i had posted here and which was called as BS by some jerk.
5. Heat Range selection
Let's make this really simple: when you need your engine to run a little cooler, run a colder plug. When you need your engine to run a little hotter, run a hotter spark plug. However, NGK strongly cautions people that going
to a hotter spark plug can sometimes mask a serious symptom of another problem that can lead to engine damage. Be very careful with heat ranges. Seek professional guidance if you are unsure.
With modified engines (those engines that have increased their compression) more heat is a by-product of the added power that normally comes with increased compression. In short, select one heat range colder for every 75-100 hp you add, or when you significantly raise compression. Also remember to retard the timing a little and to increase fuel enrichment and octane. These tips are critical when adding forced induction (turbos, superchargers or nitrous kits), and failure to address ALL of these areas
will virtually guarantee engine damage.
An engine that has poor oil control can sometimes mask the symptom temporarily by running a slightly hotter spark plug. While this is a "Band-Aid" approach, it is one of the only examples of when and why one would select
a hotter spark plug.

Thanks bro.I had known about it then also, but was in no mood to post about it back then.Today i was thinking of going for the GP series of the NGK plug so ran across this once again and thought of highlighting it here.Originally posted by Rtrlover83 View Post^

Great going man
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

ohhk now comes a problem which is a first for my bike!!!
i had changed my engine oil around 2 weeks back and at that time i had told the mechanic to clean my air filter also..so to clean the air filter he used petrol from a pipe that hangs out freely from the carb...after that i rode for about 40 kms that day with no probs and the bike was running smoothly
after 2-3 days i realized that the engine rpm isn't constant and the bike shuts down when ever i depress the clutch...
so as people suggested i used to warm the engine for a minute in the morning and atleast the bike didnt shut down...but instead whenever i depress the clutch the engine runs at 2.5-3-4k rpm...i feel even the throttle response is not crisp and it gives a vague feeling as if there's no petrol..i get to know that from the exhaust note also which has lost its constant grrr grrrr and sounds like its gonna misfire any moment
...
can anyone pls throw light on what the problem is...moreover my mileage has been reduced as the bike always runs at 3-4 k rpm even in neutral!!!
p.s my clutch switch needs to be changed as my bike doesn't start sometimes when in a gear...and sorry for such a long post
..i wanted u guys to know my problem completely!!
