Which tires should i use on my RTR, My budget is of Rs.1400 i want to fit a new rear tire. which size should i go for, Which style like street, dirt, euro type, is IRC better than MRF, please mention the entire tire specification and cost, and does a new tire come fitted with the tubeless system or i have to pay for it, I had my bike renewed after the last accident, the TVS SVC guys didnt have a facility or service to make tires tubeless, so they fitted tubes in both the tires of the RTR160, as the rear tire being 110/80 the tube is 100/90 or 80 i dont know the air gap between them makes the tube get punctured every 5-6 days. i need to know how the tubeless system works cause if i go for a new tube which costs around Rs.200-350 the shop owner said he can make the tire tubeless for Rs.200. He said he will fit a nut that will make the tire tubeless, i doubt that thing,

plus one thing more my front tire came in insurance but still it is a faulty one it has caught air while manufacturing so there is kinda bump in the tire which ruins the stability of the bike and the bump also puncture the tube several times, i complained about it to the service center about 2 months back and still i didnt have a call back from them every-time i have to call them and they always say that we will call you please dont call us. I also have the speedometer housing damaged, its because the headlight bracket was not replaced after the accident, i asked for a new one but they dindnt have that part. its been more than a month that i am asking for that part, but they dont seem to care, they say it will arrive in a few days but when i ask them after few days they say again it will take few days more. This whole thing makes my speedometer look like a wrecked bike just ran over by a truck. if you can help me on this please reply.

Better post it in RTR 160 Thread.
Shoot a mail to TVS if you think SVC isnt co-operating with you!

I think the best tyre (at the moment) is MRF Zapper C 110/18 Tubeless. Its stock size and grips better than TVS.

Black smoke is Excess fuel getting burnt..you used the choke and it dumped petrol and made AF very rich to start your vehicle...Nothing to worry, since you have no repeat occurrence.

              • Choke

Is the choke in this bike something like auto choke. It moves back to the original position as soon as you leave it. How do i use the choke is such situation

                • Front disc sound

Hey all riders....happy diwali to all..there is another weired sound that is coming from my bike. And this time i figured out what exactly is that....well some where in this thread i posted that it was front fork piston problem but now i think it is the disc. I got the pads cleaned up but then the assembling was some how not done properly so i think the pads and disc they are getting collided or i dont know but i can clearly figure out when bike jumps over the pits....any suggestions ?

Not auto choke , pull it down and hold it for 30-60 s then just leave it

You haveto hold it, it's kinda spring mechanism.

That's what I thought too. But my bike never starts with the choke on at least with the kick. It barely manages to start with the electric starter.

Hold the choke and Kick once..LEAVE THE CHOKE and kick start again it will start. When you hold the choke you are actually dumping petrol into engine through the choke circuit in the Carburetor. This will make the AF ratio very rich, and so the bike will not start and run. The next kick ,WHEN YOU LEAVE THE CHOKE,there is no more rich mix and the excess petrol in chamber help in cold start and you may get a darker exhaust fumes due to this. This is normal in all modern FUEL efficient vehicles...Nothing to worry.
