Dude My bike is Due first servicing and it is yet giving 45 as avg. So imagine after servicing. Also I still have got 2 more bars to go. So I might also touch the 50 avg mark before servicing.Originally posted by ceebeer View PostHi friends, just a query. My friend claims he is getting 50km/lt by riding sanely..Is it possible that one can get such great mileage from a 180cc.I think only RTR 160 can give a mileage of 50km/lt or more when ridden sanely.Apache RTR 180 Bike Parts CatalougeOriginally posted by MirhawkI couldn't repair the Brakes, so I just made the Horn more louder!

Handle bar Problems and bike review
i am experiencing some boggles in my handle bar
dint know really what the problem is. the bike runs in a straight way but still it reacts on every bumps on the road pretty intensely. it boggles like something shaking.
Since a few weeks back i switched back to stock airfilter from k&n. and hell the bike is improved in performance. the bike has become real silent and now no serious grunts
. the pulsar's and the honda's make more sound than me now a days. but still i feel the performance is up. i feel the torque now. i installed the K&N about 8 months back in which 2 months it was standing in the service station because of accident. i had a hell of a crash and most the parts were replaced, i mean most of it. the bill was about 30,000+. since going back to stock bike doesn't roar that much but actually pulls me.
but its is not revving free but the engine feels stressed. done 14000 on the odo and using veedol superswift 10w40 ss now need to switch to fully synthetic again. i am wish to go for motul 300v 15w50. has anyone tried it on rtr180 plz share your experience. in my city i could find motul 300v 15w50 but was unable to find the 10w40 version. so is it good to go for 15w50 because everyone goes about saying that is not recommended oil grade and everything.

Check tyre pressure. I also had similar issue i thought it s because of back wheel sprocket rubber being improperly fitted after puncture.Originally posted by whiteknight View Posti am experiencing some boggles in my handle bar
I maintain 26 for front and 30 for back.site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster

Short ABS review

BTW we are waiting for the brake review
I tested it on my most dreaded road surface - Post-rain, loose gravel strewn patch.
Run 1 - With the ABS on and at 60 kmph, I grabbed the brakes on this surface as I know for sure that wheels will lock instantly. I could feel strong pulses on the levers and the wheels being released several times, was able to stop right on the patch without losing composure.
Run 2 - With ABS off and at 20 kmph (didn't want to take the risk of falling), I just tapped the front brake lever on the same patch and there went the wheel screeeecching!
My opinion - ABS works and can be a life or limb saver. However, the TVS user manual advices not to test the ABS system but to use it, as it has been tested extensively
.
On the downside, I cannot use any other tires for the lifetime of the vehicle
because, TVS warns that the ABS system has been tuned for the TVS tires and usage of any other tires would hamper the ABS tuning! (Marketing technique?? maybe, but I don't want to risk safety)
I was very apprehensive about the performance of brakes in case of HECU failure, since the brake lines do not run straight to the brakes from the levers. TVS has cleared this in their manual, stating that the braking system would work like any other disc brake in case of HECU failure.
Warning: The ABS system is not a traction control system. So do not think it will help you in case of hard braking around the corners. For example, the front wheel lost traction while I was climbing up a slippery ramp at office, as I leaned too much and was not braking. Fortunately, was able to regain balance.
Have rode for 120 kms so far. Will post more information as my experience with the brakes grows!

It is such bull sh*t that I just cannot tolerate. WHY do TVS have to do such stupid things? They should make better tyres if they need to sell it properly. Instead, doing such unheard of things. Tuning brakes for TVS tyres!!Originally posted by Zippo View PostOn the downside, I cannot use any other tires for the lifetime of the vehicle

And now if anyone puts in another tyre, they will say u changed tyres, no more warranty!! God!!

The tires shouldn't matter at all as long as the tires are of the same dimensions. Definitely looks like a marketing strategyOriginally posted by Zippo View Post

I too think so. Will change those crappy tires after a while.Originally posted by Puneet1 View Post@ ^^^^ pretty sure that if you dont change the tire profile you can use any tire on a abs bike . the mrf zapper on the dazzler is same size i think .
@Kantu - I got it from Meghdooth TVS at Trinity circle. They do give test rides, in fact insisted that I take a long test ride (~1.5 km is long for them
) On road price is 92350. Both Bharath TVS and Bridgestone TVS also have stocked ABS. I personally did not like the lackluster attitude of Bharath TVS while selling the vehicle so picked one from Meghdooth (the showroom manager at Bharath was yelling at the sales guy for giving me a test ride right in front of me
, but tried to convince me that PDI has not been done yet).
If you are buying make sure your insurance reads TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS, because they insured my vehicle for the non ABS version (low insurance premium and low IDV). It turned out to be the insurance agent's fault. However, they were quick to correct it once I notified them of this issue.

Today had a bad experience for my bike and for me too.
Left my gf at her home and was going back home, stopped in between for water, noticed few drops of engine oil from Engine oil drain nut, thought of reaching the showroom asap. But just drove 4-5kms and again noticed the drops. And after 500mtrs, I just noticed that rear tyre is wobbling (was at 50-55kmph), looked back and saw tyre was on oil spill, stopped at the side of the road with 'these tyres' and *whoosh* all the engine oil drained out. Pushed the bike for 6-7kms only to find all shops closed and my home was still 35kms away, got a mechanic who said 17number nut would work, found a nut but it was small, it needs 19 now, no shop, no help
.
And as always India is famous for "jugaad", the mechanic got an old spark plug, washed it with diesel, rinsed it, and fitted it, and guess what its a direct fit (upside down i.e. white portion outside), got castrol active and rushed home.
Now the questions :
1. What nut RTR used for engine oil nut?
2. Should I change it now or wait for 1500kms for engine oil change as changing nut means changing oil in just 40kms??Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Hope tvs could have done it as an add on for non abs alsoOriginally posted by Zippo View PostHere is a picture of the console.. sorry for the poor quality. The ABS button is just above the LCD.
, i badly want that abs button my console
When draining put it in a clean container, or the engine oil bottle itself to save oil.Originally posted by prateek2210 View Post2.
