  • Lost 5 teeth

Guys got the chain sprocket changed after 24k kms.
Gone for a trip to hills last weekend and in the trip only loose 5 teeth.

Not talking about myslef talking about the Front sprocket of the bike.
Chain sprocket was making a lot of noise and when got her checked at a mech, surprise surprise 5 teeth gone. It was hard time finding 14T front sprocket but at last got at one of the mech's so back on Road.

Got the chain set changed at TVS SVC but another surprise waiting there, as per them and the TVS(according to part number), RTR 180 chain set they have is of 13T Front and 44T rear as of RTR 160.
And chain too also not "O" ring.

Had no option and changed the chain set.

Damage INR 911 chain set and INR 85 labour.

The bike's speed has gone down by 3 kmph at all the RPMs.

Could other guys confirm from there respective SVC's at there place?
    Thanks for help brothers.

RTR 180 had 46 T rear sprocket. Seems like they fooled you. go back to them and threaten them to complain to TVS.

Bike has alreafy ran for 24k out of which 20k are on highways only. High speed ones so chainset was up for change and i thought it can do one more run. But this time it was with pillion and on hills.

The weight of two heavy guys must have been more for already weak front sprocket and so here I am with 5 broken teeth.

And you are right, they fooled me big time and sold RTR 160 chainset instead off of RTR 180 . I am really pissed of this particular SVC(Aditi TVS Noida).

I confirmed the same from the Delhi service engineer. And he asked me to get it changed on this Wednesday.

He was saying that he himself feeling very helpless of this SVC.
He and the Delhi Service head themselve are fed up of the particular SVC

So one can imagine what can happen to a customer and the level of these blood suckers

          • yeah... get it changed to proper one. If they refuse, give them hell. Send mail to the TVS guys... they'll sort it out for you.

                • Serious issues!

Guys please help Me out! I'm really fed up with this TVS !!
First of all I would like to mention that I have not done any servicing yet! My first servicing is due for 8th of this month!
1)Initially, My battery went down after a week use. I thought that as I was cruising at speed of 40km/hr(3-3.5k rpm) , battery might not be getting charged and hence got it charged from SVC. Later on yesterday, Whenever I tried to start the bike with switch, My whole speedometer-tachometer unit would restart and the bike wouldn't even start!!
                  2) Then have also noticed that My Bike's throttle seems to have become a bit loose!! Means that it rotates a bit and stays on the same position and also moves sideways a little bit!! I always cruise at at constant 40 km/hr and there is no ripping or sudden inc/dec of speed by Me!
                  3) I have been getting a problem while shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. If a press normally(as done for other gears), the bike gets stuck between the two gears and races on the spot only, no acceleration.
4)Idle rpm is high now a days. I feel bike is revving much more than needed. I drive at 40km/hr in 5th gear? Might it be the cause??
                  5) Also on a rough patch of road My whole speedometer tachometer unit starts to make noise! Is it normal or should I get fixed it form SVC?
Please Guys help me Out!! And all this and My first servicing is yet to com.

Suggestion would be to get back to the dealer and get them to check all the issues. Its a new bike with not much mileage. Ideally they should fix it All depends on how you approach them and how much customer centric they can be.

By the way, I face the same issue as point number 3. After each service it works fine and as the next service date comes by the problem is back!! I have learnt to be a wee bit careful when I shift gears especially when I am shifting either up or down from 3rd gear.
Also, point number 5. I faced the same thing after I went through a beautiful pothole. Got the Service centre guys to take a look at it. They did. And I still face the issue on and off. So I guess that is normal, as there aint much you can do about pot holes and bad patches.

Battery, and loose throttle... get that fixed before you run anymore clicks on your bike. Idle RPM should be around 1.5 K. High RPM, that is just a half turn of screw driver and will get fixed. BUT get all this done fro the dealer or your nearest TVS service centre ONLY!!!! No friends and family, or otherwise....

Hope things work in your bikes and your favour! Cross fingers!!!

you don't have to worry about battery charging rpm...it will charge up just above from idling speed , no need to rev it up..

First of all quote all these to tvs guys during 1st service all are servisable...
                      1) battery : mostly charging circuit problem, some connections have have gotten loose.. even if it isn't tvs will replace with new battery..

2)throttle....there are screws which helds it check whether its loose or not...or leave it to service guys..

3)gear prob... where is ur clutch engaging point?? at end or starting..should be at the end ..no slipping will occur..again adjust it if u knw how or leave oit to service..

4)idling: there is a screw below tank big one.. turn it with ur hand...u can see rpm increasing or decreasing depending on direction of turn...do it to make it 1000rpm...or leave it to service..

5)tacchometer vibration: mostly its the visor vibrating ... just some srew tigening..do it if u knw or leave ot to service..!!

The Dealer is just for namesake I think. If I tell them a issues with they bike all they will say is "Sir, please go to the Service Center. They will surely fix the problem. Also I will give them a call. Hope You know the address?" and if I got to the Service Centre (About 10min later)still they won't get any call from the Dealer. And as about being Customer Centric by the Dealer, when ever I call them is "Sir, I will call You back in 10 min with the information. " And I have them back them after half an hour or so.(Happened 6 times!!)
Hope servicing fixes the shift problem. And I'm gonna sit on their necks and make the problem go. Imagine You are in a junction crossing a road and You shift and bike get's stuck!! So dangerous!! And it happened to Me!!
And Wow! If a pothole is beautiful then the road on which I drive is a part of breathtaking scenery!! I'm gonna make the SVC guys soak in their sweat till they make Her smooth again. And Yeah, will go to authorised SVC only. Won't allow anyone else to Touch My Babe!! Thanks a lot!! And My fingers will be crossed too!!

Hmm.. I thought that We have to keep Rev above 4k for battery to get charged.
Said all this to the SVC. They told Me to get the bike tomorrow as it is closed today.
Also That's what the SVC guy said about battery. That there might be a charging circuit problem as I had charged battery from them earlier and it ran good for a week or so.

I'm a newbie in this kind of things such as fitting screws and all that in a bike. So won't be possible for Me to do it now. But would Love to get My hands dirtier after I learn how to. Till then SVC.

I didn't quite understand the clutch engaging point. Could You pls elaborate?

Will try about the idle rpm by Myself. Will set to default if it doesn't work. I should keep the bike running while doing so, right?

And Nope. It's not only the Visor. The whole unit vibrates. Checked for screws but couldn't find any.

Thank You for the info!! Also I want to ask one thing specially. I cruise at 40km/hr in 5th gear, about 3k to 3.5k rpm. Is it ok?

Guys, here are some pics. Will write a report based on my observations shortly. The third picture shows the HECU. The hydraulic lines of both brakes are routed to the HECU from the brake levers and then to the brakes.

Are you riding on full clutch or half clutch that s what he asked about clutch engagin point , When shifting gear if its needed to fully let go of lever to get the bike moving then its full clutch default factory setting not recommended for long use.Ask sc guys to adjust free play.

and plz DONT FOOL around with the air/fuel ratio i,e the screw below tank,Default setting gives a superb mileage once you fiddle with it you get all sorts of issue if done incorrectly(misfiring, running too lean on fuel vibs will increase etc)

Crusing is fine at mentioned speeds shift down if rpm goes below 3 and shift up at 4 dont pull from n'th gear if rpm s at 2

and about that noise i too have it , ride with only the key (to check if its coming from key chain if its metal or hard) and some say its because of front fork oil , but this issue is there will many ppl dont know what s the exact issue to me
