ya!!! had been to this Event last year... Must say it was great time watching the bikes!!!! But keep in mind to reach at least an hour early than the scheduled time to get a seat
U need passes only to hav a seat and watch.. and it was a max. of 100-150 seats or may be even less
I too got that msg last year.. but never collected mine though.. as my cousin's place was quite close to the event location.. had to stand for the whole time..

@kantu- i gave my bike for servicing 5 days back! my bike struggles to reach 100 even with a light pillion.my bike keeps jerking lightly even there is fuel at cruising speeds say about 60-70. my bike is behaving like a 150cc bike!

My name is sai pranav and i have been following the posts in this forum from a long time, i never felt like registering because i didnt find the need to(probably i was too lazy) :P... but now i have registered because i need the help of experts here.

I have bought a grey colour apache 180 on july 3rd,it has clocked 10k kms, this is my first bike and i learnt riding on this only, i have fell down a few times but my bro had a major accident on this bike some time back, i managed to fix most part of the bike but a small part of the work is remaining.
The mechanic had said that my alloys are slightly bent, because of which im not able to apply my front brake properly, i want to buy new alloys for the front wheel and in the process i want to get rid of my tvs tyres, i heard that pirelli are the best, so can you tell me the cost of those and also cost of irc tyres.

I have heard the terms joel's modification' 'joeled' on this forum, what is it exactly?, can i modify the bore of the bike and make it 200+cc?
I want to know where i can find good modifying mechanics in hyderabad (modifying both in terms of looks and performance).

Hi guys, my name is saipranav and i own an apache 180 rtr(july 2010).
My bro had an accident with it and i fixed most of the problems. My front breaks are not working properly and the mechanic at the servicing center said that my alloys are slightly bent and i need to get new ones, can you suggest me where i can buy new alloys( i also want to dump the tvs front tyre and get better quality tyre), can you also help me find a good place to modify bike in hyderabad, i want to put angle eye(or the halo ring) to my lamp.

I have heard the term 'joeled' in this bike, i think it means mod done by joel, where can this be done? I would like to know if the bore capacity can be increased to 200+ and other modifications that can be done(kindly help me with the price and place where i can get them done )

Looks like a clogged carb or maybe problem with the spark plug. Have then checked.

Also get the water drained by unscrewing the screw just beside the a/f needle (take care to turn the fuel knob to off). This usually sorts out most jerking issues.

I hope tht cost doesn't include the the DC conversion (coil rewinding and APE RR install).... if not hw the heck r u running it on AC!!! Totally shocked here to see tht work on AC

oh n btw...it wud b great to hv some pics of the throw on road (not the parking area :P ...like i hd done before....(REFER 612 in this thread).... i wud really luv to see tht

@Social- i am sick and tired of all these problems.i dont feel like riding my bike....at one point of time i wanted to sell my bike of becuase of these irritating problems.no matter how many times i give it for servicing i keep having some issue or the other.i just gave my bike for servicing 5 days back.

You are just experiencing the (in)famous hiccup problem. Take the bike to SC and ask them to clean the carb. If not, ask them to clear out the water by loosening the screw near the a/f screw. This should effectively solve your hiccup problem....

And check tyre pressure... Yup the rtr does struggle with a pillion (Not many are aware that the max payload is 130kg only so can't really blame TVS... )

@ social- but how come all of a sudden the rpm needle which was fine starts to vibrate out of nowhere in the 8-9k RPM??? and i weigh 70 kgs and my pillion is about 50 thats well below the payload right??? i had to change the crankshaft and bore when the bike had done only 1000kms(that was because one idiot took it all the way upto 12Krpm in the first gear) is this the reason why my bike is acting like this??? also my tci unit had puffed up and my mech replaced it with a new one.he said a faulty tci effects engine performance, mileage and heat is this true?? i am getting terrible mileage figures like 32-33 even though i dont rip hard!

Well looks like your problem is more serious.

This thing really works (at least did for my good friend):
Fire up emails (do a search in this thread) to the tvs guys and tell them about your problem and complain bitterly about the service centre and drop your phone number as well.

My friend did this and within a day or two some senior guy from the HOSUR plant called him up and inquired about his bike. He then asked him to visit a SC (Nangloi, Delhi) and also dropped an email to the owner asking him to personally attend the problem. Worked like a charm...

@ social- dude but before i shoot an email.shall i first take it one last time to my local trusted mech for one final check up??????

@ social-and i changed the bore and crank when the bike was 1000 kms old and TCI unit when it was 4363 kms old now its abot 4600.

Changed the rear tire to the IRC rubber.The spec is the same(110/80-17) NR48.

Haven't rode it much after it's been fitted.Didn't get chance to do any hard-cornering test or anything.But on normal riding,I could definitely feel improvements like,in braking(no skids) and the grip on concrete roads now feels planted.Tried to push the bike a bit hard on a corner near home.Seems,there are some interesting times ahead

On my way back picked Shell 10W40 engine oil.Now will top-up the crankcase tomorrow and hit the road to Dehradun on Saturday.
