Oh, okay I thought its a tour

Zapper C,I have heard from a few guys that Zapper C ain't that good like the S..Grip on concrete was a bit of an issue with a friend who rides the Dazzler. So,I ruled it out.

Pirelli MT-75.As per the brochure it should be available at any of the Pirelli dealers around.Trouble is it isn't! I had checked with a Pirelli dealer here and he says,110-spec tire is not available. He offered me the 100-spec rubber.I called the sales head Mr.Sharma to know if the desired tire is available. He asked me to wait for around 7-10 days and he'll make arrangements. So,if you can wait go for the Pirelli.

IRC-Can't say if it will turn the RTR into a racetrack screamer or not but, there are improvements any noob can feel.Braking has improved,no skidding at all.Bike sticks to the corners and wants to be pushed hard.I mean, there's so much feedback from the rear. It's just been a day with the new IRC,so need time to comment further on it.
Did you ask about the price from the Pirelli Dealer? Also, It would be nice if you could tell the location of the dealer.

And, have you tried your IRC on wet surface and gravel also? I've read many times people saying that IRC is good on dry tarmac but doesn't perform better than MRF when it comes to wet patches. Just wanted to clear the doubts. How much did the IRC costed you?

    • Hi guys, I happened to take a test drive of the rtr 180 today for a prospecting cousin and.....what to say, it felt like a 'knowing the man behind the myth' kind of experience.

Revved so nicely all the way taht I took it upto around 70 kmph in 2nd gear itself and the engine still sounded like it was up for more. Nice! Didnt feel sluggish at any speed(that I could manage within city limits). And the handling was very good for all that power......Id say second only to GS150R (this one really handles miraculously). I got the impression that the a180 faithfully carries the spirit of the 160...just more badass. Badass fun too!

Put off was that I felt vibes all over, all the time.....right from around 3k rpm on handle, footpegs, seat, grabrail.....Id say its worse than the 160 though Ive never pushed it like I did the 180. I also felt that the paint and stickering could have been improved qualitywise over the 160, not just the engine.

Overall, 2 thumbs up just for the fun of riding it! And, all of joel's work on RTRs is icing on the cake. Tempting enough to buy one for myself. Alas, my mothridden pockets and my ekapatnivrata. I kind of envy you guys for it now.

        Loved that you loved it

Anyways, I want you to put the same in the "Budget around 1L" waala thread

And, that much vibes could be due to the fact that you were riding the TD vehicle or some new vehicle... the vibes are there I happily accept, but not that much

          A180 next to GS150????
          Is the GS150 so good?

and yea,the test bike which u used must have been ripped to the core, my a180 (2010) has very few vibes compared to some of my friends pulsars... infact those vibes are so low they wont bother you once you fully concentrate on the road

Sure I'll advertise a bike that I dont own and am just acquainted with if you do the same for the GS. +That guy wants a cbr...no point in selling a kulfi to someone that wants samosa though both are just as good in their own ways.

I believe so.....in the span of my limited trial on a a180 compared to the countless hours Ive had on my GS, I reached that conclusion.
Only way to properly tell is to put the bikes against each other. Perhaps it also depends on the rider and how used he is to the ride. Anyway, for me.....my pitbull is #1.

As for the FZ, I think it handles well but is nowhere close to the GS or RTRs. Frankly, in comparison, it handles like a pig.

Regarding vibrations....I guess you guys know better. If the vibrations are corrected with the new models, then Id say its total VFM. Worthy of a blind purchase.

Well, I don't know such problem in spark plug till now. Anyways, get a new spark plug and tell the mech that you'll only pay for the plug if the bike gets back to normal

                  Advertise?
Well, do you mean that all of us who suggest bikes to people, even the ones we don't even own, do that for the sake of advertisement?
Does it gives us free petrol in return?

Think before you post. Its maybe your funda but not everyone's. The point for what I asked you to do that is to put the transparent and unbiased viewpoint in front of needy people.

Well thats a news to me
Not because I own an RTR or I don't own a GS150, but nowhere on the whole website I read that GS is that much flickable, nimble and all.
It maybe the case with you because you have a habit of riding a GS and not RTR, so you are bound to get such feel or anything. No offense to any GS owner but there's no Indian bike in this segment which can come even close to RTR and R15(its the best IMO) in terms of handling, not even an FZ, let alone GS

Man, I posted my experience to express what i personally felt.....its not necessarily the same way for everyone.

Besides, what credibility does the experience of a first timer carry to a guy thats looking for a long termer? Any merits of unbiasedness or transparency in my comment would be quashed by my inadequate experience in riding the machine. The prospector himself can experience the same that I did, perhaps better on a test drive, right? But a word from a genuine owner gives a lot more impact. And not every owner, such as yourself, is biased towards his machine, is he? So, why did you misunderstand me and make me post all this Mr. Garry? I dislike misunderstandings....lets not have any, shall we?

I believe I do. I stated my personal opinion and not an absolute statement to start a war over. My uncle loves his silver plus over my bike and manages to ride it like the devil even though its a little more than an awkward little junkyard-ready hunk of 25 year old metal, rubber and leather in my eyes and hands.

                        Lets end this here.

Don't use this method of answering. Its boils the mind of the person answering to your post as one can't quote it. So, refrain from doing so in future. Hope you implement this in future ATLEAST for answering me.

Boy, now read your statement again and tell me if this is the way you feel then why did you even commented on the bike you never rode? I never say that one shouldn't do that. Its you whose saying that it doesn't carry any credibility

I don't think I misunderstood you. Your post clearly said the word ADVERTISE, and anybody who tries to put genuine suggestions would get hurt by such stupid words. So did I.

                            • And I thought it was only me who felt that the GS150 owners were a emotional lot. I feel they have different thought process regarding their bikes capabilities and shortcomings compared to others.

PS - No offense meant, just putting down what I felt.
