  • Thanx everyone regarding the rpm thing!i've set the idling rpm to 1.3k and in a way or two its better than previous setting.
Also i asked about the clutch freeplay settings, so any suggestions that it should be changed from factory settings or not?
And soon my bike will be completing 1000kms, i guess then i can start flying?

    • Guys I am from chennai and I have a an Apache 180 . It started giving problems with electricals . I had to pay 3000 for a new coil and now the gears jammed I could only ride the bike in one gear . ANd the now the mechanic says i would have to0 shell 8k to change the whole gear set . Can someone suggest me a good trustable mechanic in chennai who can do up my apache ? Or anyways now that I am changing the gear set , is there anything I can do to Increase the performance .

Brother i strongly oppose any kind of hammering on any part of bike and i am also aware that if a hammer is use there is a very high chance of a crack in the alloy.

But all the repairing process was done in workshop and i only came to know when they brought the alloy wheel for welding, when i asked how did this happen, they said to fix the bent they have to use hammer.
Mistake was not theres its mine, i should have asked before but the damage was already done .

Guys could you all please check the cost of rear alloy wheel at your SVCs?
        Thanks for the help

        • Need help with tyres for my RTR 180.

Am super confused with the options available. Am planning to upgrade from the stock tyres, without any mods to the bike. Budget right now is around 3k for both the tyres. Post the 1st, dont mind stretching it to 6-7 k. Important thing is excellent wet weather + gravel grip under extreme breaking. Based on various reviews IRC NR48 are the way to go, until I read a post in the tyres forum. So it would be great help if someone can advise good tyres, along with the approx rates in Navi Mumbai region. Thanks in advance. Also, sorry if this is repeat question. Basically, am looking for reviews from people around the Navi Mumbai region. Reason being similar riding conditions and all...

Query 1: How old is your bike?
Query 2: How do you usually ride your bike? High revs or smooth shift? Trying to gauge whether RTR stands up to a extended abuse on the long run. So that I can be little more careful with my Grey ghost! (No disrespect, to your riding style, bro. Just want to protect my baby)

Try sourcing the MT71 on the Pirellis, they have the exact size for the rear, 110/80*17. Michelin pilot sport comes in 17 inchers but its 100/90. Also they are street tyres so wont help much in the gravel. Sirac street is fantastic but not available in 17 inchers.

If you can get hold of pirelli, put them on, however this would cost you close to 2.5K not sure of the exact price at your place.

Whoa..Why are you spending your own money in replacing the parts.

Your bike is in warranty, Right? You can replace every damn thing under warranty!!

And why are you so hell belt upon servicing/replacing the critical parts from an outside mechanic?

Maga leave your bike in SVC for one full day on a week day , ask the svc for expert mechanics to service your bike. You can tune the a/f screw , there are detailed steps available on ********** site and here also one guy had posted a video. And you need to clean the air filters regularly if you travel near flyover etc kinda construction zones.Once in month take it to sc they will do all of this for 100 rs. or do it yourself. PS : Expert mechanics are different from others in svc , they are certified by tvs themselves, you can see a expert logo kinda thing on their shirts.I instruct managers to get it done by them only.

A well maintained/tuned stock 180 can hit over 130km/hr easily. Top speed recorded by most of the users out here is around 135-140km/hr(speedo).

Check/Clean the spark plugs, air filter and the carburetter. And finally tune the carb by an experienced technician to get optimum performance.

The catch here is 'well maintained/tuned' .
