    Anyways, a new problem guys

My battery wasn't getting charged back even after 100 kms. a day that too on high revving ride @ 100+ kmph. I thought that the electrolyte of the battery needs to be topped-up. Told the same problem to the SVC guys and they also said the same thing and topped-up the battery. Still, even after a month, the problem never got resolved. Opened up the battery-side panel completely and found something horrible

I think the battery is leaking or the stupid SVC guys poured the electrolyte/acid in this thing Attaching the pics. Can you guys find another reason behind this?

Also, what else can be wrong other than battery? How can I find out that the RR unit is the culprit or the battery. Though the pics points towards the battery

My friend recently got a Bullet electra and he was told by his SVC to avoid parking his bike on the side stand as the acid from the battery may spill over causing corrosion. Don't know if this is possible in RTRs.

    • Guys ,

Can you please guide me to reviews of rtr180 by fellow members on this thread.
Also , how do you all think rtr 180 fares against P220 S with a marginal price diff. And can anyone tell what is the cost of RTR 180 in pune (Both ABS and non ABS).
Any recurring issues in the bike should one be aware of?

Don't worry dude, it's because of the disc-pads being new.Put some miles on her and she'll free up.

Howz u Nikhil....IMO,advantages 220 S has is more power i.e higher top end, refinement and big bike feel.
Else, RTR 180 rocks in every other department. 0-100 kmph on both bikes should pretty much be the same.

Ive done 24 k kms on my bike, taken to Ladakh, not a single engine component changed so far and moreover no running in as well.

Ony thing i can say is if the usage is more Highway than City, then Pulsar might feel better.

                  Go for the P220

If not. Its a decent buy, pretty reliable. Ping DK he has a 1st gen 180.
The current gen is much more refined.

Hey Guys,I bought my Apache RTR 180 ABS today. It is damn good.Awsome power, quite a good handling, and the brakes are also working well!!
THe dealer says the bike has no thing like run in period.I drove the bike for around 35 odd km. and i think that the engine was quite hot, compared to other bikes ,is that normal??
Moreover the dealer also dint help guiding at what rpm should I be changing the gears, and what is the rpm at which I should ride the bike normally.
Also i find some 'chu chu' sound (like when u open or shut a door) when i turn the steering. Is that normal??

Congrats on the acquisition. There IS a run-in period, refer the manual.

Get your bike serviced for the 'chu-chu' sound at the showroom (shouldn't be happening for a new bike).

                          • Hey Guys.. got my RTR - ABS 2 days ago. The ODO reads around 150 kms. I have noticed a strange problem. Sometimes while changing the gears down it kind of gets jammed. so have to try 2-3 times to come to lower gears. Any specific problem? Also the gears are bit hard sometimes to shift. Is this normal in the running-in period?

welcome to the tribe looks like its raining abs.
its a new bike so it will take time become gears shift smooth (not that much smooth like yamahas).
check your clutch freeplay and also use a throttle blip for downshift.
