its a new bike so it will take time become gears shift smooth (not that much smooth like yamahas).
check your clutch freeplay and also use a throttle blip for downshift.

Thnks buddy.. the clutch is fine. will check the shift after first servicing..

    • Hey guy's, I've replaced the throttle cable assembly (ODO clocked 8015 kms) to day at the SVC.

The throttle was feeling hard to twist lately and not rolling off quickly either.
Anyways after today's job, the throttle action is very smooth and quick. Most importantly the Response from the engine is instant at the slightest twitch. Think i need to be careful with this one

So excited to have RTR back in full form, FOR GOOD
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

      • Hi Guys,
After completing 2 years on my bike and close to 30k kilometers, I have gone for Joel's big bore kit. Now it has become RTR 190. The engine is feeling smooth and a more torquey. As I have still not completed run-in with new engine, I'm keeping it below 6000rpm.
Though I have to check the fuel efficiency again when I fill the petrol next time, but at the moment I'm getting close to 50kmpl( ya that's true ).
Will give more updates once the run-in is completed.

        • So, how is the smoothness, compared to stock?

          • Hello, since the past 2 weeks, my bike is giving me a big problem.
Whenever i start the engine and start riding, when i hold the clutch, the bike is turning off and the rpm is coming down to zero, and when i release the clutch,it is automatically starting and coming back, this is extremely problematic in bumper to bumper traffic, im able to avoid this problem by revving the engine when im holding the clutch, but im afraid it will crate a bigger problem in the long run. THE BIGGER issue is that this problem is vanishing 15~ minutes after starting the bike and the mechanic is not even able to understand what the problem is.
I have given the bike for servicing at a new place(and literally pleaded him to open the engine and check each and every part thoroughly and also replace the engine oil(even though its been just 1800kms). I hope this new ASC solves the problem but i would also like your inputs about what you think is my problem and how to solve it.

One more thing is my bike is smooth for 100~ kms after servicing but its very harsh and very bad sound after that, i dont understand why.

The bike is 1 year and 13 days old (12.5k kms) Finished 5 free services and now gave for the 6th time.

I'm not sure but since you're telling the problem vanishes after 15mins, i believe it has something to do with the idle rpm. Try this, when the engine is completely cold, increase the idle rpm to a level where it stays on. I do not know where or how the idle rpm is set in RTR but try it.

And as far as the engine vibrations are concerned, let us know which engine oil is being used by the service center. Try some other oil. Other RTR users might be able to tell you which brand of oil is best for the bike. Maybe Motul?

I have tried the rpm increasing method(when the engine is hot), its actually correct at the moment 1400, when i increase it... the engine is becoming very noisy and unbearably hot, motul is the best, im going to shift to that asap, but right now the servicing center guy will replace it with TVS TRU4

Oh and even my P150 switches off when i first start it in the morning and when the engine is cold (It stays at 1000rpm and falls to 0 and switches off). But after sometime, it gets warmed up and the rpm climbs to 1100, it does not switch off after that. Could it be an engine oil issue.

                  • Just got A CALL FROM THE tvs servicing center(MDH RACING)
They said a part called "camp shaft"(or something like that, i might not have heard it properly, had got spoiled and will cost 850 rupees to replace it, so they called me to ask permission to replace that part, i said my bike is still under warranty and i should get it done free of cost, they said i have got it serviced at a different servicing center (TVS SHANTHI) so they wont cover it under warranty, i asked them not to replace that part and said ill get it done from shanthi tvs, now i'm doubtful whether shanthi tvs is going to agree that the part is spoiled and replace it or simply deny it

I have asked shanthi tvs people to do that job many times but they never bothered, so i'm having this doubt.

I doubt whether the camshaft had gone kaput in this case.Do you hear any weird sounds from the engine side?If at all, camshaft needs to be replaced insist them on replacing it under warranty. And RTR180 camshaft costs Rs.850 only???News to me!

they refusing u warranty is jus pure bull crap. talk to the manager. if the same reason persists complain to tvs.
it doesnt matter where u get it serviced from. sad to hear that tvs actually employs such idiots.

Maybe they meant Cam-shaft.But still it has got nothing to do with it.What you are facing is a carb tuning issue,so get the carb tuned with a Co machine and everything should be fine. Unnecessarily don't tell them to open up the engine etc, they will learn that you don't have much knowledge about engines and rip you off. Then again if there's a need to replace any parts,it has to be replaced under warranty as long as you got your girl serviced at a ASS.
