Fingers crossed for the results of your next SV.
I suppose you've asked which engine oil, right? I've already referred Motul 5100 ester 10w40! I now started using it, and satisfied, totally. Please check the oil levels frequently. The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

As you may wish you can sell of the bike, but be rest assured that you will lose quite some money when you do it so early. First try all means to get the bike right and then take a call if a new investment is worthwhileOriginally posted by pranav_salieri View Post@n krishna p-sorry man i am not able find time to meet you.final year and all! but i will make time somehow.
[BNo probs dude. You have to make time to get things right on your bike. So the onus is on you. Plan it out mate./B]
lot things need to be fixed in my bike....i am just not finding time to go to SVC and pester them to get these things rectified.
recently i had been to pondy and and i hired an FZ.even though the bike didnt have power ,the bike had amazing grip (MRF's) and better ride quality.and man the bike is smooth. and there was no sign of the tappet sound even after 15 kms of riding and pondy is a damn hot place. if i had ridden my RTR in pondy the tappet sound would have started i think after 3-4 kms only.
bikes done 6070 on ODO & right now the problems i am facing are:-
1.vibrations-intolerable above 35 km/h and it goes on and on(even my friend who owns a RTR160 said that even his bike doesnt vibrate this much)
virbrations can be for various reasons. I have been suggesting to get the bike to the doctor, so will continue to do so. The service centers are more at business thinking in terms of no of bikes serviced, not related to the quality of service at all
2.tappet sound comes after just 6-7 kms in bangalore weather.even when the weather is pleasent..
Like I mentioned before, come over, lets have this checked
3.faulty speedo i think cable is loose or is kaput
has the wiring meddled by any chance, this sounds more like a warranty replacement
4.vibration sound from the handle bar-near the RTR 180 logo
I repeat get the bike to the doctor
5.pathetic mileage-33-36 kms even with semi sane riding(80% sane)
I suggest you not to have expectations beyond 40 kmpl in Bangalore with the traffic now a days. But still it might need a proper tuning of the carb
6.whenever i take my hands off the handlebar at only these speeds 61-64 the handle bar shakes and the front tyre wobbles.
This sounds like a misalignment and also tyre beading not seated properly
time and time whenever i had the opportunity to go to svc or mech i kept pressurising them to look at these problems.the svc ppl are incompetent.
even though i love my bike(its my first bike) and it still a thrill to ride, all these problems are driving me insane and i am thinking of selling my bike off and buy a yammie FZ or r15..

Dude the 6K service need not have much attention. First get the bike to the doctor and then we will see everything that needs to fixed.Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Post@Rtrlover83 and sambit- i love my ride, okay ill wait for some more time my 4rth service is due bikes done 6120 on odo whichengine should i put??? ill explian each and every problem lets see if they sort things out this at least!
I bet you wont have much of these to be problems after you visit the doctor. The rest is left to you.
If you still inclined to the service centers, you will continue to have these problems unless somebody really wants to get the problems resolved.
For the oil, you can definitely use 15W-50 oil from Ageep (its synthetic and would cost around 600 bucks).

Changed rear tires to IRC 120/80 at 2800/-
Now the wheel diameter is increased, some observations are made-
1>The RPM has come down for all speeds(ex: Previously it was doing 53kmph @4k RPM,5th gear. Now-56kmph@4k)
2>Pick up has gone down a little bit(though ignorable).
3>Milage has increased(from 40 kmpl to 43 kmpl)
4>Bike handling exceptionally well.
5>Last but not least-The rubbers are really sticky. have tried braking hard on wet surfaces and I seriously miss the fishtailing now
.

Do you mean IRC tires ? not sure about IRC but most of the brands(tvs, ceat dunlop, mrf, michelin pirelli) are available at JC road . You may find IRC also if you hunt for it in those areasOriginally posted by Abhii46 View PostIs the rear tire for RTR 180 available anywhere?site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster
