heard motul chain lube is too sticky and TVS ones are best suited for RTR...but when i checked at my SVC (HSR)...they did not have it...

Go for TVS chain spray. I'm using that and m' pretty happy with it. Its around 290rs/-.
Can get it from tvs showroom. I bought it from (balakrishna tvs)attibele showroom. can also try domlur showroom(tristar tvs)

Guys, I've done some research on the Apache 180 ABS, and I could see only the following negative points.

1) Engine vibes at over 100 kmph.

Will changing to semi-synthetic/synthetic reduce the vibes? If yes, which oil do you guys suggest?

2) Bad for touring.

Is it because the seat is hard? If yes, changing the foam in the seat should fix it, right?

look at the quality of the weld on the exhaust pipe.

and that's a seriously oversize tyre for that rim.
not something that TVS would opt for.

I was so excited about these goodies, but now i too think these are not from TVS.

Ok, let's wait again for something from TVS like a performance upgrade kit which would be road legal

tvs is always super slow in launching anything be it bikes or other stuff ! they did show a performance kitted rtr 160 around 3 years back which was supposed to launch "very soon" , then they showed the kit on a rtr 180 on the auto expo 2010 again with launch "very soon"

. wonder when their soon will come

And yes, i'am waiting for that very kit you've mentioned that produces around 3.50 bhp more!

Hoping that the muffler would be road legal though

1.) The VIBES are even below 100 also. They start from 4.5K mark in Tachometer (RPM). I am not saying that you shouldn't go for it, I myself have RTR180 and I'm not et'all regretting getting it. It was just to make you aware of truth because I believe in unbiased advising.

And, let me clear the air that the vibrations are not unbearable. You'll get used to of it. When I get the power and the amount of acceleration from my machine, I can easily ignore the vibes as a negative point

2.) NO. Its not et'all bad for touring. If you don't have any backache problems ALREADY, then it will not hurt you. You can read my triplogs (link provided in my signature text) and I tell you that I had no problem because of riding posture of the bike. And, its not just me, many people tour on RTR including LijoK and Shivank here (sorry, that are the only name came in my mind right now about touring on RTR).

Thanks for the honest review. Is there a list of the optional accessories I can get with Apache 180? I would like to have a projector headlamp, will the dealer do it? (I don't want the warranty to get void).

About the projector assembly, yeah it can be done as TVS itself released the range of accessories including the projector headlamp according to the news/rumours but I myself personally don't believe that its a TVS product as long as I don't hear anything on it from TVS itself. Have mailed to TVS to ask if the modifications are genuine or not. Have also asked them about the security system issue, that if it will void My warranty. Had asked local SVC , He confirmed over the phone that as long as there are no wire cuts, there are no issues of warranty. But i wanted something to hold as proof so mailed them.

I want bajaj pulser 220 silencer and hid head light to my white 180cc apache.can silencer might be changed to pulser 220 and head light might be changed to hid.please advise me any place in gurgaon or new delhi.

Why do you want P220's exhaust on RTR? RTR's exhaust is better than that in terms of sound and also suited for RTR (obviously coz its designed for RTR only, and the Pulsar one for Pulsar itself). And, I'm not sure but I think the weight of P220's exhaust is also at higher side compared to RTR's exhaust. So, ultimately, you're gonna lose power, lose the bassy sound and I don't think even it looks better. I am not saying it looks bad but it also don't look better either.

garry is right it will look oversize on rtr .and you can put hid. for that need dc conversion unless battery low indicator will start to glow

. mine has never glown since purchase.

Yep that s what i wanted to confirm about. That original author is not responding as well , so i i put it here to get info on this as there were speculations of pro kits being launched from tvs. i was also confused

Hard seats are actually good for touring against popular perception that you need soft seats for touring. The hard seats do not get compressed much as opposed to soft foam, letting air circulate better, and cooling your bottom. This results in lesser saddle soreness! And about posture, I agree with whatever Garry has said. In fact, I prefer this riding posture. Only problem, the balls get compressed more when compared to the straight-sitting posture
