Irregular response between 3k - 4k rpm
Ok My Beast's 1st birthday is Day after
.. I have ridden about 8000 kms..
And yes coming to the problem, First of all Wen i cold start in the morning, the engine will be very UN-responsive!. I use choke for atleast 30 seconds. it gets better BUT even After the engine is heated up wen the rpm is lower than 4k, wen i accelerate it causes some jerk kinda(i.e no smooth response), this is only below 4k! its very annoying in traffic situations! First i thought it was because of the unclean Carburettor , then after the 4th service they had done a De carb! still the prob is there!
What might be the problem? anything related to spark-plug?
And im running on Shell Helix Ultra- fully synthetic oil.

Just happen to see your xbhp profile pic, and I noticed Joel's ffe on your bike.Originally posted by Rtrlover83 View PostBro, the latest batch of 160 and 180 (actually it's been sometime) comes with a short guard with RTR inscribed. So there is no bigger version of it
Have you installed the bigbore as well? How is the performance of the bike now? Have you raced with any R15's, RTR's and Pulsars(Just to compare the performance)? And is it easy to cruise above 110kmph speeds?
Sorry if Im asking too many questions
. But I have a RTR160 and soon i'll be purchasing bigbore and ffe from Joel, so....
Hope you'll answer all of my above questions.
Awaiting your reply. Thanks in advance

Can't comment exactly what could be the reason. But, I've experienced like many owners, lag/hiccup problems between 2.5 to 4K Rpm when throttle opened gradually. Recently i replaced (got input from xBhp itself) the TPS (Throttle Positioning Sensor). The problem vanished. You may try it. Please post the updates.Originally posted by rak2410 View PostOk My Beast's 1st birthday is Day after

Btw, Shell's Helix range is for cars. Never use them on motorcycles. If you want to try a FS oil from Shell, try Shell Advance Ultra 10w40.
@tusharsmoily
I have not installed the big bore kit. Check the below link for a review of the FFE

Don't know about any oil. I had the same problem sometime back when the electrolyte from the battery leaked and caused rusting on some parts below the battery. I just simply cleaned the rust with sand paper, bought a matt black spray paint and applied 2 coats of it over the parts.Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Postnobody answered this-

Hi guys, yesterday i was riding pillion and my bike didn't go over 115m/hr.Is it because i didn't downshift and pulled it from the 5th gear itself? Then i went to the TVS A.S.S mechanic,he said that he had tuned my bike to give more mileage during the second service.I'm getting almost 45km/l in city and the bike feels pretty smooth. What may be the cause?Last edited by Krish1417; 11-02-2011, 03:18 AM.Apache RTR 180 2011 | Honda Activa 2010 | CBZ Xtreme 2010 (1 month) |Apache 160 FI 2009-2010

Mine is full DC - coil rewinding, ape rr etc. A mysterious hiccup problem, which is not going away even after replacing the TCI, TPS etc are forcing me to revert to stock electricals so that I can give the bike to authorized SVC to fix (Least they say the mods are the issue).Originally posted by New guy View PostWhy? Bro, the best way to check the mileage is from reserve to reserve. When you go into reserve, reset one of the trip meters. Later when you fill up, note the quantity. The next time you go into reserve, stop, take a note of the reading (or like me, reset the other trip meter). So the kms done between these two resets divided by the amount of petrol you put in will give you the mileage. And dont just go by one checking. Do it regularly, then you'll get the hang of the average mileage of your bike. This also helps in keeping a tab on the engine health.Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Post@all nobody answered this

And if you ask me, I'll say 1L is not at all a good quantity to be checking your mileage. Put atleast 5L or above. That way you'll have a mix of all riding conditions

+1 I am also running on DC electricals with coil rewinding and APE RR but other than the engine kill not working in High beam, had no other problem. even that has mysteriously disappeared. Good Luck!Originally posted by lijok View PostMine is full DC - coil rewinding, ape rr etc. A mysterious hiccup problem, which is not going away even after replacing the TCI, TPS etc are forcing me to revert to stock electricals so that I can give the bike to authorized SVC to fix (Least they say the mods are the issue).

You are running lean as mentioned by your mech. If you are ok with less mileage adjust AFR and make it rich, I am also running on lean getting pretty good mileage 45kmpl but top end sucks bike wont pull after hitting 90(mine is rtr 160).Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostHi guys, yesterday i was riding pillion and my bike didn't go over 115m/hr.Is it because i didn't downshift and pulled it from the 5th gear itself? Then i went to the TVS A.S.S mechanic,he said that he had tuned my bike to give more mileage during the second service.I'm getting almost 45km/l in city and the bike feels pretty smooth. What may be the cause?site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster
