Congrats. Normally you'd get parking cover, seat cover, leg guard, saree guard. Some dealers. would throw in a turn indicator beeper and a cheap helmet too. Check for the tool kit, warranty booklet and first aid kit too as they are standard but some times the dealers tend to 'forget' to give them with a new bike. Another neat trick I learnt from this forum is that the tool kit doesn't have a band to secure it in place but you can demand a rubber band from scooty to do the job.

    • Refer to my vid of tuing the carb

      Here you go.
Just make sure that the bike is stable enough...

      YouTube - ‪RTR180 First CarbTuning Vid‬‏

      Some key things.

If the bike gives some mis-firings then you have made it a a bit lean(more of air) so ake it a bit richer.
If you feel a lot of gruint and vibs then you probably made it a richer(more of petrol intake) so decrease it.

Follow my vedio with above two symptoms, till the time you feel smoothness in pickup and needle of the RPM becomes stable(it should not dance)

      Thats all you need.
For servicing get the oil changed air filter and spark plug cleaned and check the battery
This all will cost you hardly 100Rs.
Thats all what those SVC do.
No need to go there and waste time i do that only

my mech once told to make the air fuel mix to rich. i don't know about it..
hope any1 can help on it.
Dude i faced that thing in the same band during early rpms and i am a newbie, So i guess i'll have to ask my mechanic to check that for me.

Mileage depends on various factors like tyre pressure, carburettor A/F ratio setting, condition of air filter,if you had done hard running in then, etc etc.Neverthless,40kmpl is still a good figure.Mine gives 35kmpl in mixed riding conditions.BTW,no one buys a RTR for mileage!Period.

Very true! Apache is a race track-derived motorcycle. Mileage is just an issue to discuss but, not be worried about.

Crashes 're inevitable and rarely do you run away from not getting the characteristic Apache-scar on the headlight housing. I 've been through that too. The mechanic at SVC suggested me to get it stickered for 20/30. But, I insisted it to be replaced. It lowered me by 600 odd bucks. However, I'm happy to see my baby 'clean' rather than with a scar on the face everyday. Take a decision looking into your financial status. SVC 'd adjust the crash guards by 'throwing'. Get a coat of black on parts wherever suitable. It's painful but, eventually you 'll be fine when your bike's ready.

                • ^ I'd advice against 'repairing' the crash guard. It designed to take most of the impact. Straightening it will reduce its strength... just like a helmet that has been in a crash... Its just 400 odd bucks. Get it replaced, least you regret it later... just a suggestion from my side...

'Throwing' is straightening the crash guard using a rod as a lever. Unless there's a crack, there's no harm I reckon. However, it's a safety issue. The biker himself needs to decide on this.

@Lijo: Why don't you start a thread for your RTR192? I haven't seen any Apache with a bigger bore kit on xBhp other than yours.

Unless it is a slight bend, its a risk bro. The next time it falls, it could snap at the weak point and become another dangerous object to the rider...

                          • Kick starting problem

Guys, I discussed this earlier somewhere on the thread that I find it difficult to kick start my bike in mornings. Now with a few oil changes and running in, it starts in 1-2 kicks in mornings but during the day when i switch off the engine and try to kick start after 10 mins it takes too many kicks to start. I know that self start never fails but if this is a symptom of some incorrect setting/tuning then please advise.

Have also spoken to the svc mech and he said that during second service he'll adjust the tappets and hopefully that should solve the problem. Is that the solution?
