Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Every BIKE has its pros and cons..... after STUDYING for almost 4years through this forum, I settled for ROYAL ENFIELD THUNDERBIRD 350. and yes, after reading all the negative feedback from the real owners also. And believe me I AM LOVING IT.
What ever you buy, you will face some problems, it's SO common. It's up to your mental state that you can deal with it or not!!?? If you really want a Hassle free experience...... I will suggest, DON'T BUY ANY BIKE Or FOLLOW YOUR HEART...... which is SCREAMING..... THUNDERBIRD, THUNDERBIRD THUNDERBIRD THUNDERBIRD.....Last edited by KnG; 04-20-2016, 12:26 AM.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
I dont think noise pollution and air pollution are comparable. As a personal belief, I dont think loud bikes are noise pollution. A traffic jam causes noise pollution. A loud bike on a quite forest trail just causes noise.Originally posted by somenath1061 View PostIt is very good thought. But it's noise pollution that is referred to here and not general pollution by exhaust.
Coming to the topic, I did a bit of CID level research and came to the conclusion that you would need upwards of 300 bullets going end to end to cause enough CO2 release which will overwhelm the trees in that area [Considering you are passing through dense forest]. Anything less is under the trees' CO2 absorption rates.Regards,

Good research. But riding in a quiet forest is still noise "pollution" of the worst kind for the animals. So a comparison with a city traffic jam is really not correct. One needs to respect the natives above anything else, be it even animals.Originally posted by hardashh NGP View PostI dont think noise pollution and air pollution are comparable. Secondly loud bike, car, person or a procession is just "loud" and outright annoying to many even if your personal opinion differ.Cheerio!

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Heavens save you if you have a back wheel puncture on a TB. Today while commuting to office I had a puncture on the Greater Noida Expressway. The releif back up is so shitty that I waited for 30 mins for a patrol vehicle to turn up but none did. To add to my misery I had forgotten my cell back home. Had hardly pushed my TB for 20 meters when a good Samaritan ( btw this is rare in Delhi/NCR where people leave you to die on the roads ) pulled over and pointed me out to the crude numbers of puncture guys painted on the railings beside the expressway. On hearing that I hd also forgotten my cell he dialled the guy and ensured he gave him the correct location.
The puncture guy who turned up was a teenage kid who could not figure out how to open the back wheel since I also have a LC on my bike. He went back to get more tools and came back with another guy and the nightmare seemed never to end. The wrestled and tried all ideas to free the disc set up from the back wheel. After managing that when the tube was opened it had 2 leaks and according to the guy the valve area was damaged. I am not sure how that happened since had stopped as soon as I found the wheel was flat. And also I had pushed it for hardly 20 metres. He fleeced me a new tube for 500 bucks apart from his repair charges of 100 bucks. Also the tube fixed is a lesser dimension one ( that's what he had ). Back to wrestling the wheel back t fix it along with the disc seemed rocket science for them. I ended up paying 600 bucks for a godammed puncture and 4 hours lost.
So couple of posts back read someone contemplating a TB. Brother you should be prepared for these. This is my second TB and had umpteen issues with my AVL TB of leaving me stranded high and dry out of nowhere.
My TB runs daily for 160 kms and has covered 23 k in 6 months but would definately say RE has improves from their earlier days ( coming from an old AVL TB owner ). Have not faced any mechanical issues so far apart from fuel gauge replacement and front disc replacement.

Can't fit maintenance free battery in enfields. They require similar ones that came with the vehicle.Originally posted by antan_shank View PostIsn't it maintenance free?? If not can't we install one?? What is standard life of stock battery??It's not about how hard you get hit... It's about how hard you get hit and just keep moving forward.
Your story may not have such a happy beginning... But that doesn't make you who you are... It is the rest of your story... Who you chose to be.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
New batteries are in did MAINTENANCE FREE & they don't DESTROY your bike with its liquid. Actually, the battery shapes (dimensions) of EXIDE & AMARON are very different for RE thunderbird 350. Many latest TBTS do come with AMARON. So does the clamps hold them in place are also different in shape. So if you have EXIDE battery fitted in your TBTS than naturally you can't go for AMARON and vice versa. To practically do that once need to change the "clamps" attached to the chassis with two bolts. Don't know if available or not. Thanks.

I would like to know is there an option to go for tubeless tyres or move to Continental GT Aluminium set which comes with tubeless tyres (Perilie SD)...Originally posted by SidharthaN View PostHeavens save you if you have a back wheel puncture on a TB.
