  • Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences

    Hi,

Fiends need help from you guys.. I am not sure whether this is the right place to post this, if not moderator please move to right place.

I am confused between TB and Classic both being 350cc.
Heart says go for TB for the modern RE. But heard a lot of negative feedback for rear disk and faulty meter. Can someone clarify on this.
Classic is like vintage RE which is good. But heard negative of the rear drum break almost non existence and front seat not being comfortable...

    Suggestions please... Thanks in advance.

Dont buy an RE if you want to avoid issues and problems. Believe me it will be a nightmare if ur looking for Japanese like maintenance free quality.

          Cheers!

Yes I've owned the tb350 for 2.5 years now and so far spent at least 20k on repairs, few because of my own riding fault, but lots because of electrical issues. Changed battery twice, changed meter and headlamp because of shorting, etc. It will be frustrating if taking care of your bike is not a priority task on your to do list.

              Cheers!

                Please clarify on below points:
                A. Faulty riding habits - elaborate please.
                B. Battery change twice - why? They came under warranty right?
                C. Change of meter and headlamp - whole meter console? And headlamp mean bulb right or the whole set?? Reason ?? All must come under warranty then spent 20k??

This is like going crazy has anyone else had similar sleepless night or g2r is the only one.

                Thanks in advance.

I had a couple of accidents so had to change the rims and forks and handle. Hence the 20k.

Changing only the bulb is apparently not possible in the new model, it is sealed, or so the SVC told me. Hence changing of whole headlight assembly and meter due to electrical shorting.

Yes it was under warranty second time. Issue is not everywhere you can find an exide dealer on a ride, and you need to change battery anyway.

                  Hope this helps.

Thanks... understood main problem was shorting.. Did you find the reason of shorting?? Or else you have the problem again..

I don't trust excide battery they can give way any day.

I will ride both TB and Classic 350 and decide. .

Yes I agree I am still with TB unless I get strong point not to go for it.

Haha you still haven't found a strong point to not go against the tb?

In that case you should just go ahead and buy it. Everything else aside, the ride is truly enjoyable.
