Based on my experience nothing helps in mumbai weather. I left using anti rust long back. I just wipe clean the bike if its wet and leave it be. I have tried elamel coating and it helps a lot and does not kill the looks as well. But you cannot remove it once you apply

Apply shampoo or oil on parts that are prone to rusting, this will help it shelter from water and rust for a short while

It's because Mumbai weather has SALT in its air, sea 🌊 effect. (SALT+water &#128166+(IRON, ALUMINIUM) = RUST.
Apply DIESEL OIL after you clean your bike. Just wat a piece of cloth and wipe every part of the Bike. Then buff with a dry cloth. It's not a PERMANENT solution, will have to do it at least every week.
                SIMPLE, EASY SOLUTION.

Changing rvms to avy ones also did not help. Plus the vibes gave me a real bad cervical pain which I am suffering till now. I wonder how people manage with these aftermarket handlebars!! Had been a serious waste of money, time, energy with that.
Btw if anyone is interested in a brand new Rd 350 bar can buy it from me.
Yes... I generally am one who advocated keeping things stock. But this time, temptation got the best of me.... Sadly, I will change it back to stock again.. Thanks for the inputs mate. Good luck selling the bar..

                  Cheers!

OK.. I know I suggested someone who replaced the meter with a new one, to not fiddle with the odometer reading and just let it be.... Well now that I've had to so something like that myself, I see your point from a different vantage point.

So I'd like to rekindle this topic, if and how can I set the odometer back to my original miles? This will bring me more peace of mind while keeping track of servicing intervals, and more than that parts replacement intervals... Yes I'd like to replace some parts which have lived out their lifespan, before they fobkaput on me in the middle of nowhere..

Mostly the headache of adding 27400 to my odo reading is simply too much every time I think of servicing and replacement.

So I would be very glad if someone can show me a safe method to bring back my odo to its original reading.

Also I would apologise to the original poster of this query for not giving it a second thought at that time.

                    Thanks

Technically shouted at them saying keep bike to yourself and give me refund. It always works alongwith warning of consumer forum. They didnt change engine oil and had charged me in first service had a valid point.
