@Divya Sharan and @rreneav1987 : You guys were spot on about the battery being weak. Yes i rode my bike to my friend's place and back(30mins run approx.) and the battery was showing clear signs of being weak but not not very weak like trips and clock getting reset during ignition. Well, i atleast feel good that i was able to get to the bottom of this(hopefully).
I have now disconnected the battery from bike and placed it for charging. This is the first time im charging this, because usually when the battery is down due to long storing of bike i push start the bike on 2nd gear and it charges to full on subsequent running or in most case of storing my zimmer i disconnect it from the leads.

Do you guys think i need a different charger for this type of battery(MF/Sealed type)?

Oh yes, the biggest glitch that i did notice while riding was the rear brakes are not effective. I did remove the rear wheel completely when i did the chain overhaul(To remove rear sprocket). I don't know whether this has caused the issue. Can anyone tell me how to adjust or tighten the rear brake calipers... im only familiar with drum brakes.

And is it okay to see water spurting out from the exhaust hose(Below the silencer/main stand) during starting of bike after long time?? Im quite used to seeing this on my zimmer but today there was more water spurted.
Well, lets wait for the battery to get charged and see if the issue persists..

BTW, I have never seen the pics of your Zimmer.. how much have you completed on your bike..?

      Have a nice day

Now that is a good explanation bro. That is what I was trying to say in my earlier post. Though the 390 has a bigger fuel pump, it is in fact the motor that is big. The aperture size remains the same if not smaller since the 390's tank is smaller. So the effort it takes to pump fuel I lower and effect greater. Love the zmr though. I miss its big bike feel.

With respect to SP read, I've gone through most of the charts available online and one thing I've come to understand is that they aint going to help you even a bit because most of the new bikes show readings way off the mark with respect to the charts due to various influential factors, such as fuel quality, riding pattern, SP temp range etc. And I've come to accept the fact that sometimes you just cant get it right.

With respect to the SP pic shown in the previous pages, I would suggest that you would be fine ignoring it as long as the bike isnt acting up. From experience my plugs show different reads after different rides, so eventually I've accepted it and learned to live with it as it gives me more peace rather than when I used to keep tuning the bike every now and then hoping to get an optimum read, which eventually caused me more harm than good.

Regarding injector cleaning the manufacturer(the actual manufacturer) would have a prescribed time frame for maintenance, you can follow it or if you feel so be your own judge and decided when to maintain it.

At the end of the day its a machine and you have went through the pain of owning it so that you're happy, not the other way around.

                    Cheers and ride safe.

Why you no Use Mirror?? It is for safety and please use it for your own good

Looks like it was the battery after all..

I m not so good with brakes so get some experts help

If possible try bleeding the brake fluid and see if that helps. Possinle reasons could be air bubbles formed or the disc pad needs cleaning..

                            Hi All,

The battery is working like new after the charging it got, finally i unlocked the mystery of the sudden "malfunction lamp" with all your advice and checks. Feels so good now.
I just hope its going to last a few more years, its been close to 5 years now
Now im off to give the rear disc and calipers a gentle blast of detergent wash, i hope it will do the trick.

Can any of the experts confirm whether a Rear wheel removal has anything to do with poor braking soon after re-assembly?? Wel.. it sure has been so in my case when i removed the wheel to clean the sprockets and chain.

Also, has anyone faced the issue of water squirted of of the exhaust hose(below mainstand, RHS) during starting of bike after a long time? If yes is it a good symptom or a new problem?

                            Thanks in advance.

Ok, after fitting the brakes and tire back, did you rotate the wheel and then apply the sudden brakes, holding the brakes and then tightening the rear wheel axle?? I am not sure if this has anything to do with the braking just seen the mechanics do it
