    Superb

Also i had a worry....my oil cooler radiator( if its called that) has all its fins bent due to wind blasts or mud, insects, stones etc hitting them. I already tried straightening them with screw driver...but now its high time i need a permanent solution or a replacement. I just wanted to ask what would be the side effects if i just keep it that way? Do i really need to change it? And if YES what would b d approx cost?

Mine are almost similar to yours. If the oil cooler has too many bent fins which actually hamper its cooling functionalities, you'll get a smell from the front of the tank. If there's no smell, keep riding.
I've ordered LED setups for my bike too from the States. Hope to get it in 3 weeks!

I would use it only on highways. but as of now I am planning to control myself from buying things.. so I am dropping the plan of buying the light assembly.. my first priority is to save 20000 and then open head to see if the smoke is due to the Piston rings or the head assembly needs to be replaced..

if first is the case, then I will have to spend some 2000/- else I will have to spend 17000/-

Am pretty sure the latter is not the case...

Hi guys, since I stay in Bangalore and do not want to experiment with the rear disc assembly myself, can anyone suggest a honest and competent mech who can fic the free play of the brake lever or adjust the pads to disc or whatever that needs to be done to brake well, like how it used to be. it's been a pain and gain situation fer me these days. I finally fix the chain and sprocket kit issue, plug and filter, oil change, and get a new problem like this one, not to forget the tryst I had with the weak battery which gave me a couple of sleepless nights. I'm tired of of all the foolhardy ASC mechs, so private mechs be suggested pls.

None of the private mech outside your area would do it immediately. Because, they'd have a number of bikes to look at already.

                    Have you:
                    1. Bled the front/rear lines with DOT4?
                    2. Opened, cleaned and lubed the pistons in the brake assy?
                    3. Sand papere-ed the pads to remove glazing?
                    4. Checked the condition of the pads? Ever changed?
                    5. Washed the rotor/disc with shampoo to remove oil, grease etc?
                    6. Checked the condition of the rotor/disc?
                    Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

The points 4 5 and 6 were checked, btw it's just the freeplay that's an issue or that's what I think. Before I removed the rear wheel, there used to be sharp braking, but now I need to depress lever harder and deeper. Dot4 fluid in good quantity, pads were good to last another 6k. I would even benefit from a DIY it's just that I never fiddled with disc setups so have practically no experience. Bleeding was done yesterday, just loosened nut to see if any trapped air bubbles was present. Points 2 & 3 are very new to me, I'm lost again.

I noticed a little extra heating up of the engine, and did a DIY on the bent oil cooler fins few days back. And I am still not satisfied by the outcome.

Evan I was wondering if we have any after market guards for the oil cooler.

Something similar to the pulsar220/200 oil cooler. There is a metal guard. Pic attached.

Burning kind of a smell. Similar to clutch burning smell.

Additional info - Osram NB is rated at 3900K. I thought it was 4300. Any 55w halogen rated 4300K guys?

Who said you that head assembly need replacement. Two wheelers do not require head assembly to be changed. Who gave you ll these bullshit ideas.

At the max you need to change the piston ring's, along with polishing the valves, changing the valve oil seal and head gasket. In Rs. 17000 we can overhaul the whole engine including changing to new bore piston, new crank, new clutch and timing gears.

Heads do not have faults. At most in heads valves are changed along with valve oil seal and nothing else.

Front brake switch kaput. Depressing front brake lever doesn't actuate tail lamps.
