    Rear fender eliminator

    will attach the pulsar 135 ka rear fender into the bike....but lets see.
    what is the cost of the rear frnder of pulsar 135?

      You have got a point but at the end practically even a minuscule difference could affect the handling. I say if one is thinking of switching to a 17 incher then fitting the rear shock absorbers of the 180 should also be taken into consideration.

          Oops, sorry I ignored that part. I just measured the length of the shocks on my 180 with the bike on centre stand and rear wheel in the air. The length from nut to nut is ~36cm and the length of the spring is ~21cm. How does it compare to that on the 160?

          The swingarms won't be a direct swap. The shock absorber mounting points is modified and you may have to change the chain cover because "the relief cut is modified to suit modified wheel assembly" and probably the silencer too because the depression on the silencer near the axle may not match with the new swingarm.

          Other than the trail angle (dunno if you can adjust it), swingarm and tyre size the geometry of the RTR 160 and 180 seem to be the same, atleast according to the service manual for 180.
          Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

            I knew i was miscalculating something. I was considering dia as rad. So the diff is 12.7mm. But one major idea behind switching to 17" for me atleast was to use the r15 rear which is still a 100/80. I don't believe in unnecessarily upsizing unless grip demands it. It's a waste of power.

            Cheers for the measurements. Now if i can only get my damn bike back from my bro to measure my shocks!

            I've already considered the swingarm to be pretty hard to graft on to the 160. and even the shocks would be an unnecessary expense. as it is the wheel is nearly 3k. yeah i know, i'm a cheapskate.

              I still say, is all this hassle worth for the sake of changing to a tire? Get yourself the Ceat Secura Sport 100/90-18 tubeless.

                  It does not mention it, but the Ceat tire ur planning for the R15 is also available in the 18-inch format. Its a bit rare (atleast I did not find it here and had to settle for the ZMR rear)

                      oh! you've got the Zapper Y then. Good. How's the grip level? it is supposed to be a little soft compound. BTW, how much did it cost?

                      The Vertigo Sport doesn't have a tubeless in 18". Sure of that. But I think at least the Secura Sport has tubeless in 18".

                        I have a rtr refresh rd model.
                        guys why is that when the engine is cold there is a big thud when the first gear is engaged?
                        It does not happen when the engine has run a bit..

                            You probably know this already but I'll just reiterate it, to compare the two shocks you also need to put the bike on centre stand and have the rear wheel in the rear so that its loaded similar to mine when I took the measurements. The service manual just mentions a different spring rating and there is no mention of difference in lengths, so the may not be different. You may just have to change the setting on the shocks.

                            It makes sense to first try with just the wheel, if you try to change everything at the same time then there are too many variables you will have to adjust. It would certainly be more quick steering than it is now and should be fun. Do let us know how it feels whenever you get it done.

                                the synthetic oil with its superior lubricating properties hinders the running-in process and does not let the piston rings get the right clearances .
