When i spoke to the svc dude, he said tvs came out with the injector replacement kit for bikes with severe missing problems and stuff. since my bike had the missing only twice in two years there's no need. And i think i already have the newer injector.

well, i use IOL extrapremium, and it's funny but i get the best perf from a little pump near my house, compared to 4-5 diff IOL pumps. I changed my filter at ~11k kms and it was pretty clean. wait, how do you check the filter? break it open?

please give more details about how u use the spray and how much it costs, etc. pic of the can perhaps?

p.s. I use extrapremium because it's actually a higher octane (91) than speed or power which are the same octane as regular fuel but with detergents added. I've seen a noticeable increase in performance and cooling when using higher octanes even if the CR is low(er) back from my RD days. We used white petrol in those days. But now i'm thinking maybe what our injectors need is exactly those detergent loaded fuels. They help clean the mpfi system in cars. should work the same way for our FIs.

Ur right. I use Speed for my bike(s). But I ran for around 3K kms in all dust/mud/petrol from local shops. Yes, I broke open the fuel filter to check it. And branded fuels are cleaner than the normal ones. I dont know the cost. Theres a friend of mine who owns a racing team. He has this can and he does the job for me. He opens up the airfilter and sprays it inside the path. The bike will feel sluggish for the first 50 kms or so. After that u can feel the difference!!

          • Oh, so you don't open the injector then. But is it enough if it's just sprayed into the airflow? i thought it has to be directly cleaned like they clean carb jets, etc. Carb cleaners are usually sprayed directly on the carbs after removing them from the manifold. And even if the jets aren't removed from the carb atleast they're sprayed on directy and allowed to soak so that the gunk is loosened.

              Bolds was news to me.
Well guys how you clean the air filter of your bike??
I use the detergent to clean it (tide, surf excel) then i dry it in sun, check it for any water droplets and fit without oiling.

Nope, I dont think its needed. Thats what I was told, cos like in a carb the fuel does not stay in one place Its pumped and sprayed at hi-pressure in the air flow. I use this -> 3M? Universal Fuel Injection Cleaner, 08956, 10 oz Net Wt, 12 per case

There is another product by 3M which u pour into the fuel tank as well to clean it from the inside.

                            • hey guys I am a not so proud owner of a apache fi (sep2008) which has run 10100kms. today when i tried to start the bike the self start wasnt workin properly and the sound which the electric starter makes while trying to start the bike was barely audible and i had to put my ears near the tank to hear it.The clock in the speedometer got reset to 00:00 automatically and the process( in which whenever u turn on the bike the rpm meter goes to 12k rpm , i think its called self check correct me if i am wrong) repeated itself 2-3 times and bike did not start on electric start although all lights were workin fine. It didnt strike me to chck the horn. but this problem disappeared when i rode the bike for a few kms and the bike performed properly for the rest of the day. what could be the reason for this. problem with relay or battery or sumthin else. I have faced so many problems on this bike since i owned this bike. first there was missing pikup which is still there, I complained to the company and they sent the engineer but the prob resurfaced after some tym. the front brake was also not working properly at that time and i could get the brake master cylinder(black box on handlebar) replaced only after i shot emails to top officials of tvs( thnx to xbhp for the id's) . the fuel pump was replaced @ 4000kms and was giving problems again @8500-9000kms . but somehow the bike started functioning well. a few days ago there was some problem again with the front brake , it was maiking a krrrrr noise under hard braking . the noise disappeared on its own and i did not go to the service center.regarding service centers in delhi. there are only 3 service centers whcih can service apache fi . the one nearest to me is in south delhi(CPL autos, okhla) this service center can at best be called a circus of mechanics and nothing more. easily the worst service center. the better one in mayapuri(west delhi is 22 kms away and travelling that much in peak summer sun is very tiring. there have been very rare moments of pleasure in this bike. only 3 service centers in whole delhi, what were they thinking.. this bike has frustrated me to such an extent that i am now contemplating selling this bike

I doubt that TVS has ever heard of the term called "QUALITY CONTROL". Is this the quality we expect from a leading bike manufacturer?? The apache Fi is supposed to be their flagship product and your most technologically advanced bike, the bike has missing pickup and had a faulty fuel pump and many other faults, is this their advanced technology?? I have paid 72000rs for this bike and is this what I get?
                              TVS , u just lost 1 customer
