  • Engine Sound

Guys there is always a constant tickling sound from the engine coming, sound is kinda timing chain sound, i told the sc guys, they told me that they need to keep the bike for 2 days or more for observation(and i cant afford it, for i hv to go office)

normally this sound use to come after i rode 50 kms or more, now a days this is happening if i ride 10 kms or less, but no performance issue or something other. What can be the reason of the sound ??

      • continuation from this post- My Accident

The bikes damages are as follows -

        The cracked left mirror.

        the broken front right indicator.

        The scar.

The slightly bent crash guard. A little more bending and it would have cracked the tank extension.

        The scratched heat guard.

The speedo has conked. This was before the accident. Note the tacho reading. Nowadays I have no complaints of the bike refusing to go beyond 12K rpm

I will be fixing all this tomorrow, hopefully. Sorry for the crappy pics though.

        cheers!

Hmm.......do HID kit consume more power than a 55w bulb?

The main reason why i wanna do this is coz i believe Kauria and pundrick had tried silverstar and other(philips i guees) 55w headlights on the RTR and they did'nt find much difference. And thts coz of the magneto not producing enough power.

So y dont we convert it to DC and give it a shot? i think that would make a lot of difference in the intensity of the light when compared to AC.

And i dont think removing the pilot lamp is that necessary!

Bike needs to charge the battery more only when the HID is on right? but u are already saving 35w power by diconnecting the Headlight from the magneto. and in low beam ur drawing 35w power only which is normal. so i dont think removing the pilot lamp is necessary!

I had change the switch settings in the right hand side switch lever, now the battery powers the instrument console, the parking lights (Change to LED) and the back light along with the stop light. The headlight is still got his power from magneto, and its still 35/35 watt. I didnt try out the 55/60 yet.

Now the power from magneto is only used for charging the battery and the headlight. Number plate 5 watt bulb is also disconnected from the battery circuit to reduce load from battery.
bro....any increase in the intensity of the bulb after doing all this? and pls try a 55w bulb and let us know. if this works out i'll do the same on my bike too!

R15 has an 17 inch alloy and RTR rear is 18 inch!

                    • Today while commuting to work, an Apache RTR FI passed by and I really loved the exhaust note of the machine. It's way BETTER than my P200! It's just that the overall dimensions of the bike looks a little too small for my liking.

But frankly, that's just me nitpicking; the machine overall looks tremendous, the exhaust note is really grunty. I don't believe single cylinder machines could sound any better, and ofcourse that funky blue backlit instrument panel is a sight to behold.

                      Overall - A+

Heck, I generally don't pay any heed whether it's an RX or an R1 passing me! But, yeah, the RTR FI did look good, and that exhaust note is still ringing in my ears. Lovely machine.

Nope my HID kit is 35W, which means it will consume 35W while running. The max. power consumed by an HID is only when it starts up.

I am not sure what went wrong with Kauria and pundrick's bikes. My HID kit is 35W HID for lo-beam and a 55W halogen for hi-beam. So to compensate for the extra power consumed, I have removed the the two pilots which are 5W each. I do not have any issues. On the great reflector of the RTR, the 55W does make a marked difference.

No idea. Use the factory manual, try re-routing and give it a shot.!!!

That sound, I guess is the sound from the exhaust. Its kind of common in all the modern bikes. I think the sound comes during the cooling process of the insides of the exhaust(may of the glass wool)
