    • Guys.. needed some advice

When slow down to stop.. and we downshift from higher gears..

      should we always go from 2 -> 1 -> N or 2 -> N ?

I almost always end up doing the latter.. is it really bad to do that or it doesnt matter ?

      Thanks.

you can skip gears and downshift all in one go....no such issue in tht...

but FI never comes to nuetral if you stop the bike say in 3 gear..to come to the nuetral either u have to blip the throttle or leave the clutch 1/4 and do the downshift...
the latter do smooth it out....

as it was a short burst thn dont worry,it wont harm ur engine...
do vary engine speeds in every gear and for a short bursts take it to 5500....

          and after 1000......
just see how beautifully the tacho goes to 12000
Hey thanks renny , but what do you mean by vary engine speeds in each gear? shud I rev the bike in each gear & shift at 4000? And also after 1000 kms should I directly go crazy on it (12000) or build up speeds/rpm gradually?

Also now I noticed a high pitched screech coming from my rear disk when the brake is applied, is it because the disc & pads are new or is there something stuck in between? A high pressure wash didn't do the trick either...

It means that dont drive at a constant speed and Rpm and keep changing them for better setting of engine components . Even after 1000kms plz dont go insane but increase speeds gradually .

@sai_ace- Mate, can u tell me the approximate cost, parts that must be changes for fitting rear disc on my A150.. more importantly, will the TVS ppl be able to do it?
i am facing big problems with my rear brake since a very long time

              Hi,

About Cost, I'm not sure, but the following are the components which need to be changed/Added.

              1. Rear Alloy wheel
              2. Disc brake assembly.
              3. Swingarm
              4. Adjustment of rear mudguard.

If I missed anything, pls update guys.

              Regards,

              Sunny

mate, i would suggest 100/80 MRF zapper Q..must say outperforms all other tyres! even better than my 120/80 geo-cruiser i had earlier..i find it best for commuting, but thats more of a personal choice i guess!

varying the speeds mean take the bike to 4000 RPm in each gear and maintain for a little time thr...and vary it gradually....
and after the first serv which is at 700km take it to 5000RPM in each gear....
and man once you see 1000km on display.....REV the HELL outta it
1000 km is pretty long for engine to get set buddy...!!!!!!!!

wipe the disc with a WET cloth if high pressure water spray is not solvin it.....tht'll do the trick......

Just go over this thread, you'll get all the info. I guess, 2 posts before also, there is some discussion on the tyre thing.

If it's 3 month old, it must be Dec/Nov batch which had almost all the niggles solved. Can you provide a short review/experience with the bike? That would be awesome for someone who is planning to but this bike now.

                        • thanks.. it'll take me forever to read all the previous posts, thats why i askd directly. I love the bike..... wat's not to like about it...it's quick and i love the exhaust note.
i hav had a few prob with the vibrations around 60 , apart from that no problems... i've got good mileage too considering the way i drive it.

                          • if your speedo too is not working, then your speed sensor has gone..TVS service centre will change it under warranty. it's around 350 bucks anyway,

hi dheeraj i also have a rtr fi one month old with 697 km done i upgraded my rear Tyre within first week with MRF Zapper Q 100/90/18 and i must say that its a great tyre now the bike's handling has improved a lot without compromising fuel effeciency because i am getting around 53 kmpl. But after first service tappet has start making sound and it increases as engine heats up so wanna know Is it normal or there is a problem with the bike ?
